The ROC Walk will recognize people in the community currently undergoing<br />
cancer treatment, highlight survivors and raise money to fund<br />
GEST Foundation grants. Register as an individual or a team online at<br />
www.GESTfoundation.org. Proceeds from the ROC Walk will provide<br />
grants for services including grocery delivery, home cleaning, home<br />
wound care, transportation or even counseling to help with the internal<br />
wounds that come with facing the news “you have cancer.” The walk<br />
will be fun for ALL ages, so grab your family and friends and join us at<br />
the beautiful Cane Island for an afternoon of fun while raising money<br />
for a very important cause.<br />

Open House <strong>January</strong> 22 nd<br />
Ladies, do something just for you in the New Year. Katy Vocal Express, a<br />
prospective chorus of Sweet Adelines International, is holding an Open<br />
House on Monday, <strong>January</strong> 22, <strong>2018</strong> for ladies that like to sing. Maybe<br />
you sang in school and would like to get back to singing. Perhaps your<br />
“nest” is now empty and you need something to fill that empty space<br />
once filled with kids’ activities. Or, you would like an evening away from<br />
the kids and be around some adults for a little while. Katy Vocal Express<br />
can fill those needs and we’d like to introduce you to this new chorus,<br />
acappella barbershop harmony and a group of really nice ladies. All voice<br />
parts will find a place in the chorus and no previous choral experience<br />
is necessary. The open house begins at 7 PM in the choir room of Holy<br />
Covenant United Methodist Church, 22111 Morton Ranch Road, Katy,<br />
between Mason Road and Grand Parkway. There will be signs guiding<br />
you to the proper parking and entrance.<br />
Female singers of all ages (age 14 and up) and singing abilities are<br />
welcome to come. Young women 14-18 will need an adult chaperone.<br />
While it is helpful, you do not have to read music to sing with KVE, we<br />

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical<br />
is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure. “Once upon a time, there was<br />
a little ogre named Shrek....” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero<br />
who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey<br />
and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered<br />
bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits,<br />
and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one<br />
on hand... and his name is Shrek.<br />
Irreverently fun for the whole family, on the stage of Tompkins High School<br />
Performing Arts Center, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre!<br />
