Biographies<br />
Alexis Rotella<br />
Is a digital artist and poet who has been writing Japanese forms in English<br />
since the late 70's. She served as president of the Haiku Society of America<br />
and Frogpond editor in 1984. Rotella founded several journals including<br />
Brussels Sprout and Prune Juice (senryu). Currently she is ITO-En Haiku<br />
Grand Prize judge 2018.<br />
Debbie Strange<br />
Canadian<br />
Is a Canadian short form poet, artist, photographer, and musician, whose<br />
work has been published worldwide. She makes small poems and art every<br />
day to help manage chronic illness, and to connect her more closely to the<br />
world and to herself. Debbie has an affinity for birds and water, and enjoys<br />
exploring nature with her husband in their 1978 Volkswagen campervan. A<br />
showcase of award-winning haiku and tanka that she has incorporated into<br />
art may be viewed in The Haiku Foundation Haiga<br />
Galleries. Debbie received the World Haiku Association’s Haiga Award of<br />
Excellence in 2015, two Honorable Mentions in the 2016 Jane Reichhold<br />
Memorial Haiga Competition, and she won The Heron's Nest Cover<br />
Illustration Contest in 2014. Keibooks released her full-length<br />
collection, Warp and Weft: Tanka Threads in 2015, and Folded World<br />
published her haiku chapbook, A Year Unfolding, in 2017. A publication<br />
