Clear <str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g> Mechanism –<br />

When I get upset with <str<strong>on</strong>g>life</str<strong>on</strong>g>’s distracti<strong>on</strong>s it often brings me<br />
down. I feel over whelmed and sometimes it takes my esteem<br />
away. When this happens I take some time to refresh my mind.<br />
Here’s what I do: No matter where I am I find a driving range and hit golf<br />
balls. This is the <strong>on</strong>e place where I know I can clear the mechanism; eliminate<br />
all thoughts completely from my mind except for the activity I am pursuing.<br />
If I d<strong>on</strong>’t have my own clubs I’ll rent some and grab a large bucket<br />
of balls. My goal by the end of the sessi<strong>on</strong> is to master my shot. By the<br />
time I get in my car and get back to <str<strong>on</strong>g>life</str<strong>on</strong>g> my mindset is already at peace.<br />

What <strong>on</strong>e thing/place/experience will allow you to eliminate<br />
all thoughts completely from your mindset except for the activity<br />
you are pursuing? If you can’t think of <strong>on</strong>e go for a walk in<br />
the wilderness. Nature is often the best way to accomplish this.<br />
Goals are merely a benchmark of what is<br />
possible. It’s important to set your<br />
sights high when trying to achieve any<br />
goal, no matter what it is. But, in the<br />
end, regardless if your goal was met, as<br />
l<strong>on</strong>g as you did everything in your power<br />
to achieve it then you were successful.
