COMMUNITY<br />
Pennies for Poverty and the<br />
Justice Action Ministry of the First<br />
Religious Society (FRS) Unitarian<br />
Universalist host a free public<br />
meeting on January 10 to discuss<br />
the challenges and potential<br />
solutions for the homeless in<br />
our area. John Feehan, Executive<br />
Director of the Newburyport<br />
YWCA will outline the results of<br />
the 2<strong>01</strong>7 homeless count which<br />
showed 467 homeless in the<br />
Newburyport and surrounding<br />
towns, including 334 children.<br />
Russell Green, executive director<br />
of Family Promise North Shore,<br />
will join the panel to highlight<br />
their efforts to return newly<br />
homeless families to economic<br />
self-sufficiency. Since May of<br />
2<strong>01</strong>3, Family Promise North<br />
Shore Boston has worked with<br />
local faith groups, dedicated staff<br />
and hundreds of volunteers to<br />
further their mission of housing<br />
families and helping them get<br />
back on their feet. The meeting<br />
will take place Wednesday,<br />
January 10, from 7-8 pm at the<br />
FRS Parish Hall located at 26<br />
Pleasant Street in Newburyport.<br />
