Page 4 Natick Local Town Pages www.localtownpages.com January 2018 Film Series Opens Dialogue on Health Issues By Amy Mevorach A film series presented by the Metrowest Health Foundation in conjunction with the Morse Institute Library raises questions related to community health concerns and offers opportunities for community dialogue in response. Each film will be screened at the Morse Institute Library, Liebowitz room, lower level, from 6:15-8 p.m., with a light catered supper, followed by a panel discussion. The next showing will be Big Pharma, January 8, 2018. The first film in the series, Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope, screened October 16, 2017. This documentary presents a study of adverse childhood experiences (ACE) and how they impact health and longevity. ACE categories include emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, emotional or physical neglect, and specific traumas such as having a family member incarcerated or parents who divorced. Resilience was followed by a panel led by Laurie Burnett, Consultant, Dr. Jessica Greenwald O’Brien, Licensed Psychologist, and Dana Zais, Clinician at Wayside Youth and Family Services. Community members were invited to share their experiences and impressions during the discussion. Rebecca Gallo of the Metrowest Health Foundation said the panels include at least one professional in a field related to the film, and if possible, someone with personal experience in the subject as well. “We want to present different angles,” she said.
