What is Self-
Esteem?
Let’s take a closer look…a feeling of trust in one's
abilities, qualities, and judgment / confidence in
one's own worth or abilities; self-respect
“Love yourself first and
everything else falls into line.
You really have to love yourself
to get anything done in this
world.”
– Lucille Ball
Benefits of
Self-Esteem
v Life becomes simpler & lighter – You won’t make
mountains out of mole hills or fabricate problems
out of thin air
v You’ll have more inner stability and self-sabotage
less – You won’t seek validation from others
v You’ll be happier on a daily basis – You will start
creating a life you love and deserve
Healthy Self-
Confidence
Empowers you to be visible and live out your purpose
without fear of rejection.
Why Should You
Build Your
Self-Esteem
Impact
The level of our self-esteem
has profound consequences
for every aspect of our lives
from how we deal with people
to how much we will achieve
and ultimately the level of
personal happiness we
experience.
Correlations
Having a healthy self-esteem
allows us to operate on a
higher level. It increases our
ability to be rational, intuitive,
creative, independent,
flexible, manage change,
admit mistakes be cooperative
and show benevolence.
7

Poor Self-Esteem
Contributes to…
Self-Limiting Attitudes
We become irrational,
blind to reality, rigid,
fearful of new or
unfamiliar things,
inappropriate conformity
or rebelliousness,
defensiveness, overly
compliant, or overly
controlling, possibly
leading to hostility
towards others.
Fixed Mindset
People with low selfesteem
can often feel
stuck by their
circumstances and unable
to see solutions or
strategies for change. Left
unchecked, it can lead to
depression and isolation.
Settling
Low self-esteem causes
you to settle for less than
or mediocre results in all
aspects of your life. It can
create a self-fulfilling
result of unhappiness and
under achieving. Thoughts
and beliefs drive actions
and action bring the result
that feeds the sadness that
accompanies low esteem.
8

Nurturing
Your Self-
Esteem Can
Bring About
Change
You alone are empowered to change your
story. Building your self-esteem will
equip you to cope with obstacles that
come your way and empower you to make
new choices that feeds your soul.
