LIFE’S VISION STATEMENT<br />

• Write a short paragraph <strong>for</strong> how you want your life to be.<br />

Make it short and easy to commit to memory. This<br />

statement will be <strong>the</strong> guiding <strong>for</strong>ce behind your future<br />

choices.<br />

• You may want to go a step fur<strong>the</strong>r and create a vision<br />

board that represents different aspects of your life.<br />

Post it near your work space so you see it daily.<br />

CREATE YOUR<br />

PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT<br />

• Write a short paragraph describing how you plan to<br />

contribute to <strong>the</strong> world. Again, make this short and easy<br />

to remember. These activities may be a part of your<br />

life’s work or how you plan to volunteer in your<br />

community.<br />

• Gaining clarity on how you want to spend your time will<br />

help you focus on your REAL priorities throughout <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>year</strong>.<br />

CREATE 50 BIG<br />

LIFE GOALS FOR 2018<br />

• Create a mind map of your goals. Include goals <strong>for</strong> each area<br />

of your life: Spiritual, Personal Growth, Relationships,<br />

Business/Career, Health, Family, Money/Finances and Fun &<br />

Recreation.<br />

• Be artistic and make this fun! This map will be your path <strong>for</strong><br />

success in 2018!<br />

• Some goals will be easier to achieve <strong>the</strong>n o<strong>the</strong>rs, but <strong>the</strong>y<br />

need to be BIG enough to make you stretch beyond your<br />

accustomed to zone.<br />

CHOOSE YOUR TOP 5 BIG GOALS<br />

FROM YOUR LIST<br />

• Examine your list. Ask yourself <strong>the</strong>se 2 questions <strong>for</strong> each goal:<br />

• Is this what my heart truly desires<br />

• Why?<br />

• Once you identify your top goals, ignore <strong>the</strong> rest of your list until<br />

<strong>the</strong>se 5 goals are completed.<br />

• Eliminate any goals that do not resonate with your heart’s desires<br />

• Fully commit your time and focus to <strong>the</strong>se 5 goals<br />

MAKE YOUR GOALS<br />

S.M.A.R.T.<br />

• Goals should be simplistically written and clearly defined.<br />

• Specific is <strong>the</strong> What, Why and How of your goal<br />

• Measurability breaks <strong>the</strong> goal into smaller chunky pieces<br />

• Achievability is having <strong>the</strong> knowledge, skills and abilities to<br />

complete <strong>the</strong> goal<br />

• Results focused shows an outcome once <strong>the</strong> goal is<br />

completed or implemented<br />

• Time-bound creates a timeframe <strong>for</strong> completion<br />

S.M.A.R.T. GOAL WORKSHEET<br />

State your goal:<br />

1. Specific: What will <strong>the</strong> goal accomplish? How and why will it be accomplished?<br />

2. Measureable: What 2 indicators will validate <strong>the</strong> goal was achieved?<br />

3. Achievable: Is it possible? Have o<strong>the</strong>r’s successfully done it? Do you have <strong>the</strong><br />

knowledge, skills and resources to get <strong>the</strong> job done? Will achieving <strong>the</strong> goal challenge<br />

you and not defeat you?<br />

4. Results: What is <strong>the</strong> benefit of accomplishing <strong>the</strong> goal? What outcome will be gained by<br />

achieving <strong>the</strong> goal?<br />

5. Time-bound: What is <strong>the</strong> due date? What urgency exists? Is this goal isolated or are<br />

<strong>the</strong>re o<strong>the</strong>r tasks that need to be completed first?<br />

SET A NONFOOD BASED REWARD FOR<br />

CELEBRATING YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS<br />

• Rewards drive motivation<br />

• Choose something that you wouldn’t ordinarily spend<br />

money on to increase your enthusiasm and<br />

commitment to <strong>the</strong> goal<br />

• If <strong>the</strong> goal is large, choose smaller rewards <strong>for</strong> meeting<br />

smaller milestones to keep you on track<br />

UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL<br />

• Examine any fears associated with completing a goals<br />

• Create positive affirmations to combat those fears, repeat daily<br />

• Eliminate distractions<br />

• Create a workable strategy to cut out distractions from your<br />

daily routine – email, social media, noise, etc.<br />

• Schedule your priorities<br />

• Get rid of busy work<br />

BUILD A TEAM<br />

• No one ever achieved greatness on <strong>the</strong>ir own, it takes a<br />

team<br />

• Add people to your team who you can delegate to – hire a VA<br />

• Add people who complement your skills – staff your<br />

weaknesses<br />

• Add someone you can be accountable to like a coach or mentor<br />

CHOOSE YOUR INNER CIRCLE WISELY<br />

• Let’s face it, not everyone gets <strong>the</strong> entrepreneurial<br />

mindset or lifestyle<br />

• Choose to surround yourself with people who will encourage<br />

<strong>the</strong> pursuit of your dream<br />

• Choose people who have growth mindset and impact you in a<br />

positive way<br />

• Choose people who energize you ra<strong>the</strong>r than drain energy<br />

CREATE A GROWTH PLAN<br />

• We don’t grow without taking intentional actions<br />

• Create a reading plan<br />

• Sign up <strong>for</strong> conferences/workshops that support your goals<br />

• Make a list of <strong>new</strong> habits or skills to learn<br />

• Schedule time to think and plan<br />

• Make self-care a priority<br />

BONUS: LIVE OUT YOUR SIX<br />

1. Choose to embrace a positive attitude despite<br />

circumstances<br />

2. Be intentional with your words and actions<br />

3. Develop good thinking habits and practice daily<br />

5. Boldly live out your values and faith<br />

BONUS: MAP IT OUT<br />

• Take your top five goals and chunk <strong>the</strong>m into smaller<br />

goals. If your goals will take you a <strong>year</strong> to complete,<br />

break it into 4 quarters, <strong>the</strong>n from <strong>the</strong>re break it down<br />

in to monthly, weekly and daily tasks.<br />

• Create a chart that lists your goals, your timelines, your<br />

”Why” and your rewards.<br />

• Give up your “to-do” list and start plugging in your<br />

priorities into your calendar.<br />
