Why a Tesla Roadster is
heading into space
Never knowingly under-hyped, Tesla chief Elon Musk has come up with a new publicity stunt: he’s
sending an original Noughties Tesla Roadster into space. It’s as part of his SpaceX mission to Mars,
and the early electric sports car will form part of the ballast on board the rocket.
The Falcon Heavy rocket is preparing for launch in January 2018 and Musk said he thought it
fitting that one of his pioneering EVs was sent into orbit.
‘I love the thought of a car drifting through space and perhaps being discovered by an alien race
millions of years in the future.’
David Bowie on the Tesla’s stereo in space
The Tesla Roadster will be playing David Bowie’s Space Oddity on the stereo, Musk added. The
unmanned Falcon Heavy rocket is on the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida
(above), undergoing final tests before blast-off early in the new year. It’ll use the same launchpad as
the Saturn V Apollo 11 moon rocket.
It’s all part of SpaceX’s dream to fly people and cargo to the moon and - eventually - Mars.
‘Test flights usually contain mass simulators in the form of concrete or steel blocks,’ he said. ‘That
seemed extremely boring... so we decided to send something unusual.

Where mild perturbing might occur is under the bonnet. You won’t find a highly strung, naturally
aspirated V10 or V12 on loan from the Huracán or Aventador, but a version of the 4.0-litre twinturbo
V8 from the Bentley Continental GT and Audi RS6, connected to an eight-speed auto and

Before you start Googling furiously, the 707bhp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk also takes
3.6secs, but that’s from 0-60mph, and it trails by 10mph at the top end. That makes the 2.2-tonne
Urus officially the fastest SUV out there. Frankly, we’d be perturbed if it wasn’t.
If you can get over the fact that it’s more likely to woofle and rumble than bark and shriek, it’s
actually a far better fit for an off-roader – offering more torque at lower rpm. And yes, you can
take your Urus off-road should you wish.

The new ‘Ultimate Series’ McLaren is the company’s fastest and most extreme car ever
It’s the second instalment of McLaren’s Ultimate Series, five years after the P1 rearranged our
understanding of the natural world. Now it has a name – the McLaren Senna. Bold move, right,
naming it after arguably the world’s greatest racing driver? But when you learn that Bruno Senna,
Ayrton’s nephew, has been involved in the development, and its mission statement is to be the
company’s most focused and effective track car ever, it fits.
Unlike the P1, it is not a hybrid. You’ll find no battery ballast or e-motors here, just a
development of the 720S’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 wound up to 789bhp and producing 590lb ft
of torque, channeled through McLaren’s trusty seven-speed twin-clutch ‘box. These are numbers
that are no longer startling in the world of 1,400bhp+ hypercars, but when you combine that
figure with the Senna’s obsessive focus on weight and downforce, its potency grows.
McLaren claims a dry weight of 1,198kg, 85kg less than the 720S despite packing 79bhp more.
That’s 553bhp-per-tonne for the 720S versus 659bhp-per-tonne for the Senna – quite some leap.

Soy ante todo un vanguardista ya que Dj
Ignace es un showman, percusionista y MC.
Me gusta compartir mi cultura musical con el
público. He sido Dj durante más de 38 años,
así que te dejare adivinar mi edad “jajá”. Ex Dj
residente de “Palace Baines Douches, Queen
y muchos otros clubes famosos en parís”. He
trabajado con grandes Dj´s como Carl Cox, Jeff
Mills, Eric Morillo, Maxwell y Sven Vaht.
2. ¿Como empezaste en el mundo de la
música?
1. Who is Dj Ignace “Showcolat”?
I am first and foremost an avant-gardist. Since
Dj Ignace is a showman, percussionist and
MC. I like to share my musical culture with
the public. I’ve been a DJ for over 38 years,
so I’ll let you guess my age “hahah”. Former
resident DJ at “Palace, Baines Douches, Queen
and many other famous clubs in Paris”. I have
worked with great Dj’s like Carl Cox, Jeff Mills,
Eric Morillo, Maxwell and Sven Vaht.
2. How did you start in the music
business?
My Father was a musical conductior, so one
could say I started from an early age “inside
my mothers womb”. I opened the first record
shop in Paris, called Sound Record (a current
competitor to Champsdisque)

2018?
By 2018 I plan to release my new single
“showcolat - (afro version)” and establish
myself even more among the Marbella
community! I am currently the resident DJ at
LOV, the prestigious restaurant at Olivia Valere
nightclub in Marbella, where I spent last season
working hand in hand with several Marbella
DJ’s and big names like Gianluca Vacchi, Dj
Abdel, Bob Sinclar, Luciano and Cuartero, and
even rappers like Fat Joe.
4. What makes you different from other
DJs?
What differentiates me is that not only can play
ultra-sharp music in electro or hip hop, but im
also a percussionist and an MC. I have a rich
musical palette.
