When you begin working at <strong>ADvTECH</strong>:<br />

Maternity<br />

Leave<br />

Grades A – C get 18 working days per annum<br />

Grades D+ get 23 working days per annum<br />

Study<br />

Leave<br />

After 5 years of service:<br />

Grades A – C changes to 21 working days per annum and<br />

23 after 10 years<br />

Grades D+ changes to 26 working days per annum after 5 years<br />

of service<br />

* Not applicable to <strong>ADvTECH</strong> Resourcing.<br />

Maternity and paternity leave<br />

<strong>All</strong> employees (except Casuals and Independent Contractor’s) are<br />

entitled to 4 months maternity leave after 1 year of service at full pay.<br />

You may apply for an additional 2 months, which will be unpaid, and<br />

subject to management approval.<br />

In total, you would need to work back 12 months, on your return.<br />

An additional 2 days will be granted as Paternity leave for those with<br />

more than 1 year of service (only for birth or adoption).<br />

Sick leave<br />

For auditing purposes, we all need to capture our sick leave correctly<br />

in accordance with the number of days you were booked off. For<br />

example, if the doctor booked you off for 3 days, the system needs<br />

to balance according to your medical certificate.<br />

If you are ill:<br />

You need to take all reasonable steps to notify your Manager,<br />

(preferably before 10:00 in the morning),<br />

Original medical certificates must be submitted for any sick leave<br />

taken on a Monday or Friday, or the day before and after a public<br />

holiday,<br />

Sick Leave in excess of two (2) consecutive working days will only<br />

be granted as paid sick leave, if you submit an original medical<br />

certificate from your doctor,<br />

Requests for sick leave must be made through the APS User Self<br />

Service process (refer to page 24 and 25),<br />

Should your leave not balance according to the medical<br />

certificate, <strong>ADvTECH</strong> reserves the right to investigate.<br />

Study leave<br />

<strong>All</strong> employees are entitled to 10 days study leave per annum, which<br />

does not carry over to the new year.<br />

This is for the day before and the day of the exam, as well as study<br />

blocks but you would need to discuss this with your manager.<br />

Family responsibility leave<br />

You are entitled to 3 days family responsibility leave in a 12-month<br />

period for<br />
