Amanda Malan Amanda is a Visual Artist from South Africa born in the city of Bloemfontein in 1968. Her key themes are cultural and environmentally enthused, explored through a variety of mediums including oil paint, crude oil, water colour, acrylic fluid paint, ink relief printing and film. Amanda has been working as a self-taught artist for a number of years in the Republic of Ireland. Amanda has worked in collaboration with her fellow students creating the online exhibition ‘ Crossings’ featuring works relating to personal journeys , global journeys and pathways. “ Seeing the light” is a depiction of a personal journey , living as an expat in the Republic of Ireland. A journey of sadness and loss and given time, resulting in acceptance of her country of adoption.
