Fullness Talk 1

I remember November 30, 2017. My
day started with a prayer, God’s word,
and a short reflection. I don’t know what
happened, but as I was looking at the busy
street from the glass window in 7-Eleven,
I felt a sudden rush of admiration for every
person that walked by. Suddenly, everybody
seemed so beautiful. No earthly beauty
standard mattered. I am not sure if it was
Mama Mary’s intercession, the message of
the scripture or my usual prayer of “Lord,
help me see people through Your eyes.”
That convinced the Spirit to make me see
the masterpieces before me. I realized that
God truly made everyone beautiful, and the
discriminating beauty standards on earth
are absurd in Heaven.
I remember December 24, 2017. It was
Christmas Eve mass, and my nose bled
because of the high temperature inside the
church. I went out after communion. The
cool breeze of the wind and the unusual
number of people welcomed me. Suddenly,
I felt like crying tears of joy. I was so

blessed to see them there. Nothing else
mattered.
I don’t know if it was the desire to go
out, my joy found in the Eucharist or my
short prayer of “Lord, what do you want
me to do?” that convinced the Spirit to
make me understand love in a deeper sense.
The magnitude of God’s love is greater
than our sins, no matter how big or how
small. He always rejoices when we come
back to him.
This story is not about me. This is
about you and the love of the God who
loves you beyond words. He celebrates with
you in times of joy. He helps you as you
pick up your broken pieces, and get rid of
the toxic pieces, renew the good old ones
and give you perfect fragments. He simply
never leaves. He makes all things beautiful
in His time. He created time, and He
knows what He’s doing.
His eyes are set on you like you’re
the only person there is. You are His
masterpiece. Because of it, you are a
champion, wherever you are and whatever
your purpose is. You are enough. You are
incomparable. You are beautiful inside and
out, even when you feel otherwise. God
made you. No standard of this world will
beat that.
We were not made for this world. We
were made to be filled with His love that
never runs out and share it. With this love,
we live and love. I would sometimes pray
to feel the way I did during those fateful
dates. But, alas, more than a feeling love is
a choice.
Whenever we check our reflections,
may we remember how we are fearfully
and wonderfully made. May we see the
same need to be loved in the eyes of other
people and make them experience, with
sound mind, the love of Jesus made known
to us. Perhaps love doesn’t have to be
complicated. It just has to be real. And we
know where we can find a love like this.
