1 ST ANNUAL REIGN OVER CANCER WALK
POSTPONED UNTIL FEBRUARY 25, 2018
Due to the massive flooding the Katy community experienced as a result of
Hurricane Harvey and the continued efforts to recover from the devastation
it caused, the Reign Over Cancer (“ROC”) Walk has been postponed until
Sunday, February 25, 2018. The walk will be held at Cane Island and will
begin at 2 PM. Plan to stick around after the walk to enjoy complimentary
food and beverages, music and family-friendly activities.
The ROC Walk will recognize people in the community currently
undergoing cancer treatment, highlight survivors and raise money to fund
GEST Foundation grants. Register as an individual or a team online at www.
GESTfoundation.org. Proceeds from the ROC Walk will provide grants for
services including grocery delivery, home cleaning, home wound care,
transportation or even counseling to help with the internal wounds that
come with facing the news “you have cancer.” The walk will be fun for ALL
ages, so grab your family and friends and join us at the beautiful Cane
Island for an afternoon of fun while raising money for a very important
cause.
Registration for the ROC Walk is still open and we encourage everyone to
sign up! Register now at www.GESTFoundation.org. For up to the minute
race information and updates, follow us on Facebook. Sponsorship
opportunities for the Reign Over Cancer Walk are still available! We have
Katy Taste Fest, the city’s first festival for foodies will again be held at
Villagio Town Center March 24, 2018, 11 AM-2 PM. The festival celebrates
all things food from some of the best Katy restaurants. It is a foodies’
paradise with emphasis on food, family and fun. The festival will focus
on celebrating the diversity of the local restaurant scene with bites from
30 local restaurants, cooking demonstrations, beer/wine, a large kids
zone, live entertainment and a silent auction. Fun for the whole family!
Our inaugural event was a HUGE success with more than 800 attendees
and raised more than $13,000 for our local non-profit partners. We aim to
exceed that number in 2018!
NEW: This year’s event will feature a VIP Jazz Brunch: This is an opportunity
to discover your new go-to favorites while savoring comfort foods you’ve
loved for years. We have something for everyone from adults to kids.
Katy Taste Fest has partnered with several local nonprofits that focus on
abused, neglected and abandoned children including Katy Cares, Krause
Children’s Center and Armor of Hope Foundation. Details and ticket
information will be available on www.KatyTasteFest.com.
About Katy Taste Fest: Katy Taste Fest aspires to turn tasters into diners.
