work with form teachers,<br />
deans and curriculum<br />
managers to help<br />
students make<br />
appropriate course<br />
decisions. Careers<br />
education is woven<br />
through the curriculum<br />
as a result of high<br />
quality planning and<br />
reporting. School leavers<br />
are individually<br />
monitored and tracked<br />
in association with<br />
external transition<br />

Student Services’<br />
Centre<br />
The Student Services’ Centre is staffed by a Guidance<br />
Counsellor, qualified Nurses, a Community Liaison Officer,<br />
and a Social Worker. The Centre is open every school day<br />
and provides a free service to <strong>Mangere</strong> <strong>College</strong> students.<br />
The Nurses work closely with teachers involved in the<br />
school’s health education programme, with other agencies<br />
and with a doctor who provides free consultations during the<br />
week.<br />
Community Liaison Officer<br />
The school employs a Community Liaison Officer (CLO). He<br />
can visit families to check on non-attending students, collect<br />
parents for family meetings at school and generally provide<br />
an effective link between family and school.<br />
