Sponsorship for
Underserved
Children in Egypt
I
n countries fraught with religious persecution,
the most vulnerable victims are
often the children. Some are orphaned during
violent attacks. Some are displaced as their
families are forced to flee their homes. Some
are trapped in an endless cycle of generational
poverty. With this in mind, ICC created the
Kids Care fund.
Christian children in these countries are often
denied the educational opportunities that their
Muslim counterparts receive simply because of
their faith. A lack of education leaves these children
with severely limited job opportunities as
they get older, reinforcing the cycle of poverty
and oppression. In response, ICC developed a
child sponsorship program in Egypt that provides
such children with discipleship, education,
school supplies, food, and clothing.
In a letter from a sponsored child in the
seventh grade, one student said, “I am really
grateful that I am your son and that you are
still taking care of me. Thank you very much
for the discipleship and the lessons. They
changed my life and helped me become a better
person.” With the support of ICC’s donors,
these children have been given a second
chance at a life that otherwise would have
seemed impossible.
Kids Care
These are letters and drawings from
children in ICC’s sponsorship program. The
above letter is from a middle school child
expressing appreciation to his sponsor. He
hopes to become a doctor when he grows up
because he has a heart condition. He asks
for prayer that God will heal him without
surgery to close a hole in his heart.
