General Meeting Minutes 1-16-18
Ah. Another baby picture!
The General Meeting was called to order by
President Andy Anderson at 6:30pm. Minutes from
the December meeting were read. Lupe’s sister
joined us at the November meeting not her sisterin-law.
With the correction – Mike Lebda made a
motion to accept the minutes. Mike Henenfent
seconded. Darlene Derringer gave the Treasurer’s
report. Tonight’s raffle brought in $235. Winners
of the $50 bills were Ruthie Danielsen (that makes
2!!!!!) and Jill Kroeker.
VP of Activities, Dick Danielsen went over the past
activities. 34 members attended Roy Whitson’s
Celebration of Life. While a lot that was said, we
already knew, we found out Roy was a prankster
and heard about some of his pranks. Future events
include Movie night on January 24 th , Super Bowl
Party at the Lebda’s. Valentine dinner at
Cattlemen’s in Selma on Feb 11 th . And don’t forget
the Laughlin Run in April. The women are putting
together a Domino’s Run to Napa to support Judy
Capurro. It will either be at the end of February or
the beginning of March. Stay tuned.
VP of Public Relations, Dick Johnson welcomed
our newest members, the Estrada’s minus Bob
sponsored by Diane Tjerrild. We voted on Roger
and Valerie Merritt. We all said yes!! Birthdays
totaled 671 years and Anniversaries totaled 197
years. 2 couples the Comers and the Hayes are
recognizing 50+ years. The Hayes received a $25
gift card from Panera for
having been married the
longest this month – 53
years!! Congratulations.
Dick also reminded us to
shred our old rosters not
just throw away. There is private information on
them. Also, a reminder to bring in those
insurance cards when members renewals come
up during the year. Chuck Laningham collected
$4.50 in badge fines. Debbie Garrison gave her
sunshine and Clouds report. Connie Olson has
fallen and broken several bones in her hand. She
is now in rehab at the Genesis complex on
Alluvial in Fresno. We are all whirling from the
many passings of past and present members.
One bright spot was Craig and Darlene
Derringer’s announcement of a grand baby at a
mere 10# plus. Please keep Ruthie Danielsen in
your prayers as she has surgery January 29 th . The
Hayes attended the wedding of their 3 rd
grandson this past weekend.
Tonights baby picture belongs to Lynne
Henenfent. 7 people guessed correctly but only
one winner. That would be Emily Piercy.
Old Business – Diane Tjerrild thanked everyone
for their generous donations of coats and
blankets. This year 1200 items were collected
for Catholic Charities compared to 900 items
last year. It has been decided – if you wear your
club logo shirt that has your name on it, you do
NOT have to wear your name badge.
New Business – None
Next Board meeting will be at The Danielsen’s,
Tuesday, January 23 rd , 7pm. Scott Parkin made
a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:27pm.
