HOMETOWN DINNER LECTURES MEET ALUMNI WHERE THEY LIVE<br />
NECO offers CE opportunities in a range of formats, with topics that address a variety of current, relevant, and interesting issues<br />
facing vision professionals today.<br />
For alumni scattered throughout the U.S. and Canada (see the map below showing the distribution of NECO alumni), returning<br />
to Boston for CE programs can prove challenging. In response, the College developed the HomeTown reception and lecture<br />
series, which brings NECO’s educational programs to the communities where alumni live and work. These informal evening<br />
events include dinner and a one-hour COPE-approved lecture on a topic typically suggested by an alumnus. The events are held in<br />
restaurants, which allows for networking and social time.<br />
During the fall of <strong>2015</strong>, dozens of NECO alumni convened in New York City and Bethesda, Maryland, for HomeTown events<br />
focused on clinical challenges related to diagnosing and managing vitreomacular disorders.<br />

of Columbia, as well as in<br />
Europe, Asia, Africa, and<br />
Australia. In fact, 8% of our<br />
alumni are located outside<br />
the U.S., including in Canada,<br />
home of the fourth-largest<br />
concentration of alumni after<br />
Massachusetts, New York,<br />
and California.<br />
