Campbell Business Plan |<br />

Campbell Primary School’s Business Plan<br />

<strong>2016</strong>-2019 was created in collaboration with<br />

Campbell Primary School staff and School<br />

Board. The Business Plan forms part of a suite<br />

of documents including Whole School Plans,<br />

Operational Plans (which are completed<br />

annually), School Self-Assessment Plan a<br />

Workforce Plan, Financial Plans and the<br />

Delivery and Performance Agreement.<br />

Every three years the school undergoes<br />

a Department of Educational Services<br />

review against the current Business Plan.<br />

School Context<br />

Campbell Primary School is a dynamic school community with a strong culture of exemplary educational delivery catering<br />

for the diverse needs of all members. As a highly supportive community Campbell Primary School embraces change, values<br />

diversity and consistently builds on everyday experiences. Highly motivated staff ensure a school of excellence and equity.<br />

Campbell Primary School completed its second Department of Education Services review in March <strong>2016</strong>. The review was highly<br />

positive and commended staff for the development of:<br />

• a school culture that promotes values with staff; and students ensuring a safe and inclusive environment;<br />

• maintenance of “above expected” academic standards and positive social outcomes achieved for all students, including<br />

those from a culturally-diverse community;<br />

• an extensive curriculum provided to meet the needs of students and<br />

• staff commitment to high standards of education and care.<br />

Recommendations handed down in the recent Department of Education Services review have been included and highlighted<br />

within this Business Plan.<br />

As Chairperson of Campbell Primary School Board, it is my privilege to welcome you to Campbell Primary Independent Public School.<br />

Campbell Primary School offers students a chance to excel and pursue their personal best in both the academic and<br />

physical side of school life. Campbell Primary School Board members, teachers and staff are committed to a culture of high<br />

At Campbell Primary School we are committed to success for all students. We hold the belief that success is more than just achieving good grades.<br />

It is the maximum development of a student’s intellectual, social and emotional capacities. Through provision of a stimulating, engaging, innovative<br />

and supportive environment we strive to support each individual to achieve both a passion for learning and excellence in achievement.<br />

The Department of Education Services independent Review - <strong>2016</strong> commended leadership and staff for the positive academic and social outcomes<br />

achieved for all students, including those from a culturally-diverse community.<br />

Literacy Targets<br />

• Continue to maintain positive growth and increase<br />

the numbers of students achieving 0.5 VEL or<br />

above in Pre-primary On-Entry Literacy.<br />

• High levels of Year 3 achievement in NAPLAN<br />

are sustained into Year 5.<br />

• Increase the percentage of Year 3 students<br />

achieving in the top 20% of the state in<br />

NAPLAN Reading to be above 35% , aspiring<br />

to be 40% or above by 2017.<br />

• Maintain or Increase the percentage of Year 5<br />

students achieving in the top 20% of the state<br />

in NAPLAN Reading and Writing to be above<br />

30% , aspiring to be 40% or above by 2017.<br />

• In Reading 10 students who were at or below<br />

National Minimum Standard in Year 5, 2015<br />

will be above National Minimum standard<br />

when tested again in Year 7, 2017.<br />

• In Writing 2 students who were at or below<br />

National Minimum Standard in Year 5, 2015<br />

will be above National Minimum standard<br />

when tested again in Year 7, 2017.<br />

across domains tested in terms of achievement<br />

At Campbell Primary School we are committed to ensuring all students and members of the school community feel accepted, nurtured, valued,<br />

respected and included. Through strong partnerships with parents and community, the school embraces the diverse cultures and actively promotes<br />

the many values of a moral and ethical community. We aim to promote positive relationships between and amongst students, staff and parents and<br />

wider community to further enhance the strong positive culture that exists at Campbell Primary School.<br />

The Department of Education Services independent Review - <strong>2016</strong> commended the school for the development of a school culture that promotes<br />

values with staff and students ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.<br />
