COBH EDITION 16TH FEBRUARY - DIGITAL VERSION

At a recent meeting of Cobh Municipal district I had a motion up for discussion on the parking or rather lack of parking spaces in Cobh. The purpose of this motion was really to try and identify and understand the reason why we have so little parking available in the town and to see what could be done if anything to improve the situation. Over the years some key areas in and around the town were developed for housing when in hind sight maybe these areas should have been kept for parking.

Cobh Wanderers Notes
Congratulation to Cobh Wanderers senior players Ian Stapleton and Dave Stack who
were presented, by the Munster Senior League at a special function last Friday night, with
their International Caps for their participation in the UEFA Regions Cup Finals in Istanbul last
July. Well done to all the squad.
The club wish to sincerely thank the Cronin family for organising and delivering a superb
Table Quiz last Saturday night in Jack Doyle’s Bar. Thanks especially to Danny Cronin for
setting what everyone present on the night hailed as a fantastic array of testing and teasing
questions, and to Tommy Cronin for all his work in organising the evening and for making
sure everything ran so smoothly throughout. Not forgetting the team in the background
making sure the paperwork was all in order. We appreciate the professional job done by all to
help the club raise much needed funds. Thanks to the staff of JDs who were on duty Saturday
night and to Ger Curley for his continued support. Huge thanks, of course, to all the people
who turned up to take part in the quiz and who contributed so generously to the spot prize
raffle and to anyone who donated spot prizes. Finally, congratulations to John Barry and his
teammates Jason Abbott, Dave Curran and Cian Spriggs on winning the quiz with an outstanding
score of 74 out of 80. A most enjoyable night.
