LOUDER
Allow me to share with
you one of my weaknesses...
I am partially deaf. I can’t
clearly hear using my left ear.
I don’t know if the people/
attendees who I got to talk to
have noticed, but I always ask
the person speaking to me to
repeat what they are saying or
to speak a little louder.
Young people today tend to
listen more to the noise of the
world, telling them that they are
a failure, a loser, an ugly person,
unsuccessful, poor and not
worthy of being loved. And in
turn, becoming partially deaf to
the promises of God.
My reminder for you is to
not let the noise of the world
keep you from hearing the
louder voice of God. Do not
allow fear to be a hindrance
to the blessings that God has
prepared for you. Do not
allow the lies that you’ve been
hearing to break your loving
connection with God. Do not
let sin define who you are. You
are God’s beloved. You are
God’s powerful champion. You
are love. Focus on the louder
voice. God has been constantly
talking to you, reminding you
of who you really are. You are
God’s child. Focus on that
and you will clearly hear His
message of hope and love in
your life.
“See what love the Father
has lavished on us, that we
should be called children of
God! And that is who we are.” 1
John 3:1

Whenever I have a pregnant
teenager as a patient, I would
often ask her this question: “Why
did you do it?” And the most
common answer I get is this. “I
love him.”
Do teenagers really know
what love is? Can young people
differentiate love from lust? Are
they emotionally mature to know
what it means to be in love?

ABUNDANCE

ARE YOUR KIDS EMOTIONALLY MATURE?
A FEW years ago, I saw a crazy
sight: My son, who was only 7 at the
time, was teaching my wife how to
navigate a new software program
in her laptop. The little tyke asked,
“Mommy, do you know how to
click?” I had a hard time hiding my
laughter.
But that’s reality: Young people
know more tech than we do. And
because of tech, they have all
the information in the world on
their fingertips. Thus, the internal
clash: Their intellectual maturity
is not in pace with their emotional
maturity. Young people still need
to go through the long journey of
psychological growth that we all
went through.
Today, I want to tackle
emotional maturity. What is it
anyway? How do we get it? And
if your parents aren’t emotionally
mature, how can you attain it? I
love what American actress Susan
Peters once said: “Children have a
much better chance of growing up
if their parents have done so first.”
Have an awesome Feast today.

Our Journey with Jesus to Holiness

As the Lenten season began with Ash
Wednesday, Fr. Jeff Aytona revealed last Friday
that our Church asked us to pray, fast, and give
alms as we journey with Jesus towards the call
for holiness.
“Lenten season is a journey with Jesus
towards Calvary. It is a journey with Jesus to
become holy… because the Father is holy,” he
said in his homily during the celebratvvvvion
of the Holy Mass of The Feast SM Manila at SM
City Manila Cinema 4.
In times of our weakness, Fr. Jeff reminded
us that we should turn to God and let Him be
our strength.
“Sin pushes us away from the love of
the Lord, but prayer leads us closer to God. The
more we pray, the more we can become closest
to God and when we become closest to God,
the devil cannot get near us,” he said.
Moreover, he emphasized that fasting
during Lenten season would not only be limited
for delicious foods but also for sins.
“If we need to take care of the body,
the more we need to take care of the soul…
because the body will go back to dust, the
soul, if it is healthy with the grace of God it will
live forever,” he pointed out as he asked us to
refocus ourselves not only from our physical
needs but most especially in enriching our
spiritual health by lifting ourselves to God and
refraining from sin and pleasure.
Nonetheless, to completely love and
be faithful to the Lord, the priest presider
encouraged everyone to serve others by giving
alms or sharing what we have.
“You fast, you abstain from meat, whatever
you save, you give and share to the needy,” he
further suggested to be our beautiful discipline
of love this season.
A Life of Love
One day, each and every one of us will turn
to dust and that is why we must live our life full
of love.
“Fill your life with love. Fill your entire
existence with love. Fill your entire hyphen with
love,” said Doc Ryan Capitulo last Friday during
The Feast SM Manila’s Valentine’s Special
“Valentines Date: What to do when heart’s day
falls on Ash Wednesday?” at SM City Manila
Cinema 4.
Using the acronym L.O.V.E., the Feast SM
Manila leaders gave four ways on how to fill our
lives with love.
To live a life full of love we must: Live our
life to the fullest, Obey God, Value people and
relationships, and Eliminate negativity.
Quoting Mother Mary, “My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord. My spirit rejoices in
God, my Savior.”, Doc Ryan said that if we want
to live our life to the fullest, we must be like
Mary who proclaims the greatness of the Lord
and we can do that by honoring Him through
maximizing the gifts and talents that He has
given us.
In addition, he said that Mama Mary should
be our model of obedience to God and we must
listen to His call and obey Him.
“If you want to fill your life with love, your
dreams must be God’s dreams in your life. Your
plans must be God’s plans. Your mission in life
must be God’s mission.”
Sharing the same stage with Doc Ryan and
continuing the four ways, Bro. Philip added that
we must also value people and relationships
through our efforts and our love.
“Walang ibang paraan na maparamdam mo
sa iba na mahalaga sila kundi mahalin sila,” said

To eliminate the negativities in our lives,
according to Bro. Philip, we must listen to God’s
voice instead of the world’s negativities and
believe that God will never disappoint.
“Your suffering now is not your final story.
Sa lahat ng pinagdadaan mong hirap, hindi yan
ang huling storya mo. Part lang yan ng chapter
ng buhay because the author of the story of
your life has already finished and I promise you,
it’s a happily ever after,” the preacher said as he
reminded everyone to just let God work in our
lives because we are still under construction
towards the best version of ourselves.
As we were marked with the ash during Ash
Wednesday, Bro. Philip shared his own meaning
of A.S.H. - A Saving Hand, and said that we are
called to be God’s saving hand in this world - to
love and be like Jesus to everyone.

#RelationshipGoals: God Gave Me Grace

What you’re about to read is
not a typical “boy meets girl” love
story.
We all know Kuya Lep (Sumera)
as one of our Feast leaders here.
He’s wise and kalog, but is also very
bold when it comes to his faith in
Jesus. Ate Saly (Go) is the head
of our Singles Missions. If you’re
attending the MD sessions, you
might be familiar with this beautiful
worship leader with angelic voice.
These two met at The Feast.
They were even friends. Before,
Kuya Lep would always enter
Cinema 4 looking angry and
whenever Ate Saly would come
across this grumpy guy, she would
say, “Smile po.”
They had never thought that
Grumpy Guy’s smile alarm would be
God’s angel in disguise, until God
said so.
PROLOGUE: GOD’S GRACE
I had always believed that
finding “the one” is destiny and
free will combined. However, when
asked to choose between the two,
the couple chose neither.
He called his past
relationships his “learning
experiences”, so he told himself that
the next time he would fall in love,
he was going to let God choose.
She had her own issues as well, so
she chose to see the goodness in
everything.
“’Yung puso namin inayos yan
sa pamamagitan ng grasya ng
Diyos… broken, pero yung ginawa
ng grasya, inayos niya ‘to.”
It was grace, guys. Hindi
destiny. Hindi rin free will.
EXPOSITION: GOD’S VOICE
It was founded by neither
attraction nor flying ipis na feeling
butterfly. It was pure grace.
Kuya Lep saw Ate Saly
during worship and he thought she
was different. In that moment, he
said to Jesus, “Lord, I think she’s
the one.” Ate Saly did not trust
Kuya Lep’s intentions immediately,
but she trusted God.
Saly: Baka kailangan mo pang
i-complete ang sarili mo.
Lep: Kumpleto na ako kasi I
have God within me.
God: Saly, binigyan na kita ng
taong pagkakatiwalaan mo,
pinapaalis mo pa.
Grace did it. God did it
RISING ACTION: GODLY
DATING
For them, Godly dating
is making God the center of
a relationship, even outside
religious setting. More than staying
physically pure, it is about falling
in love with Jesus together and
sharing His love with one another.
CLIMAX: THIRD PARTY?
Saly: Parang third party natin
ang isa’t isa?
Lep: Oo nga ‘no. Kami ni Lord
ang may relationship. Kayo ni
Lord ang may relationship.
God: Op, op. Hindi ikaw ang
third party. Ako. Mahalin
niyo ang isa’t isa gamit ang
pagmamahal Ko. Let Me love
you here.

‘Wag kang magmadali hanapin
si “The One.” It’s necessary to listen
to the voice of Jesus para alam mo
ang gagawin sa feelings mo. Let’s
learn to trust God always. (Please

May nagsabi sa akin noon
na ang true love ay parang raffle
draw, pero kagaya ng sinabi ni Kuya
Lep, “Your one true love is not a
person. It’s only Jesus.”

man ang sagot Ko, kasi you are

at mamahalin ka kasama Ako. I’ll

Don’t rush. Just trust.
