LOUDEST
Young people of today
are pretty much hook up to
“mamaya na attitude”. Millenials
choose to delay, to postpone
task or roles assigned to them.
One lesson I learned from my
dad is that life is short. That if
we want to do something in our
lives, we need to act on it now
and do it now.
Be good now.
Be obedient now.
Be merciful now.
Serve Jesus now.
Say Thank you now.
Say Sorry now.
Say I love you now.
Bruce Lee said, “If you love
life, don’t waste time, for time
is what life made up of.” Stop
regret and start doing it now.
Never take time for granted.
Sometimes, delay is the devils
tactics. Listen to the Loudest
voice of God telling you that
you need to do it now.
Let me end this message by
sharing to you the message of
Master Oogway from Kung fu
Panda, “Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery, but
today is a gift. That is why it is
called the present.”

I gave my life totally to JESUS
at the age of 33. When it comes
to my faithwalk, I’m kind of a
late bloomer. So I am thrilled
whenever I see millennials and
centennials serve the LORD with
much dedication and passion!
My challenge to the young
people of Feast SM Manila is this:
Dedicate your life to GOD now!
As in NOW! There is so much joy
and contentment in living a life
that is pleasing to HIM so don’t
delay it any longer!
PRAISEcription: Give your
time, give your talent, give your
treasure to GOD, STAT!
Be well and make a difference,

Today, I receive all
of God’s love for me.

THE ANTIDOTE TO FUTURE REGRET
THE Feast is for everyone. That’s
why Feasters are a mixed lot. We
have lots of students. Lots of
millennials. Some middle-agers.
And even a sprinkling of seniors
(who suddenly became weekly movie
watchers, even watching Hacksaw
Murder III, just because it’s free).
Without exception, whenever I
meet a fiftyish or sixtyish Feaster, and
we talk about how I gave my life to
God when I was 12, they tell me the
same thing: “Ow shucks, I wish I gave
my life to God when I was younger.”
One senior told me, “Thank you
for the Feast, Bo. My life has been
very rough and going to the Feast
has been healing me…” Fighting
tears, he explained, “I had two
broken marriages, with ex-wives who
hate me, sons who went to drugs,
daughters who hooked up with jerks
just like their Dad. I started seriously
following God two years ago. I
wonder how my life would have been
if I started following Him at 16?”
Today, I call every young person to
follow Jesus.
Don’t delay. Give yourself to Him
now.

Resolve Conflicts, Apologize

Fr. Toto Cerada shared last Friday
that the best option to resolve conflicts is
through reconciliations.
“’Pag may conflict, ang sinasabi
ng Diyos, ‘Makipagkasundo ka.’ ‘Pag
may ‘di pagkaka-intindihan, ‘pag may
‘di pagkaka-unawaan, ang sinasabi ng
Diyos, ‘Be reconciled,’” he said in his
homily during the celebration of the Holy
Eucharist at The Feast SM Manila at SM
City Manila Cinema 4.
According to the priest presider, it
is quite a challenge for us to reconcile
and say sorry to those people we have
wronged. Many of us think that admitting
our mistakes and apologizing dampens
the dignity.
Fr. Toto emphasized our lack of sense
of others as a reason why we find it
hard to apologize. He said that our selfpreservation
is so high that we forget
the concept of self-donation – that is,
we would often think of what’s best for
ourselves before thinking of what’s best
for others.
“Napakataas na ng self-preservation
natin. Pumupurol ang self-donation.
Nawalan ng pakialam sa iba, naging
makasarili na lang sila… Sariling interes
na lang ang tinitignan, nawawala na ang
sense of others. Nawawala ang selfdonation.”
“Tayong mga Katoliko, tinuruan
tayo ng Diyos wag sarili ang isipin…
Sana next time, magising tayo na ‘di
sarili ang iniisip. Magising tayo na ang
pwersa ng pagmamahal ang ating
ipinaglalaban, na ang magtulak sa ating
kasiyahan sa buhay ay walang iba kundi
ang pagmamahal,” said Fr. Toto as he
reminded everyone to bring back that
sense of others and think less of our own
interests because as we lose our concept
of self-donation – of self- sacrifice,
we get stuck at life and this is where
challenges come our way.
Fear of admitting our mistakes, of
being judged, and of not being forgiven
are other reasons that Fr. Toto shared
why we find it difficult to apologize.
The Love Which Doesn’t Need to be Proved

“Your identity is love,” declared
The Feast SM Manila leaders last Friday
during the ‘Talk 2: Expression’ of the
series entitled ‘LOUD: Listening to the
Voices of Today’ of the The Feast SM
Manila at SM City Manila, Cinema 4.
The M.D. session preacher, Dr. Ryan
Capitulo, reminded us that each of our
hearts is like a tank that we should fill
with love. To fill that love tank, he said
that we could find help through prayers,
scriptures, sacrament, through our
community like The Feast, and through
the love we receive.
As for the second and third sessions
preacher, Bro. Philip Sumera, since
God designed His love to be poured
out to human hearts through human
relationships, we could fill our love
tanks and that of others through the
love languages which are the Words
of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Quality
Time, Receiving Gifts, and Physical
Touch. By recognizing and considering
one’s love language, love could be sent
and received as how it is best meant to
be.
Given that we are made to love, The
Feast leaders warned us that there might
be people who would make us doubt our
ability to love.
“Every day, the devil will question
your identity. Even Jesus was questioned
kung sino Siya,” said Bro. Lep as he
shared the instances, as stated in the
scripture, when Jesus was tested by the
devil by asking Him to turn the stones
into bread when He was fasting, and to
throw Himself down and commit suicide.
“Hindi Niya pinansin ang kalaban. He
reminded Himself of His identity that is
love,” he further stated.
Doc Ryan said that every time we
experience the deceiving shouts of the
devil, we must rebuke those lies and
remember the truth that we amazing,
lovable, and capable to love like Jesus.
Further, he mentioned that just like how
Jesus is secured with His identity as the
Son of God, we should also be secured
with our identity as the children of God.
“There’s nothing to prove. Simula pa
lang, mahal na mahal ka na ng Diyos. If
He is for us, then who can be against us?”
Bro. Lep concluded.

Confessions of a Sufferer
For five years, symptoms
showed up. Last year, my
counselor said that I may have
had depression.
Prophet Elijah challenged
Baal’s prophets to see whose
God was real. Elijah had them
killed when he proved that his
God exists. Queen Jezebel, an
avid supporter of Baal, wanted
to kill Elijah. Out of fear and
distress, Elijah fled into the
wilderness and wished he was
dead.
“It’s too much, Lord. Take
away my life; I might as well be
dead.”
God sent an angel to give
Elijah food and water for
two days to equip him for his
forty-day trip to Sinai. God
asked Elijah what he was
doing there. Elijah complained
that despite his faithfulness,
everything went wrong. God
sent wind, earthquake and fire,
but Elijah found Him in the soft
reassuring whisper, willing to
listen.
He neither rebuked nor
blamed Elijah for being
depressed. Instead, he sent him
nourishment, gave him 40 days
alone, patiently listened to
him and sent him back to life.

I was home alone last
February 16, Friday when I saw
my worst depressive episode.
“It’s too much, Lord. Take
away my life; I might as well be
dead.”
I got scared of my thoughts
and my mom’s kitchen knives
set. I was calmed by my
best friend and Mama Mary’s
powerful intercession through
the rosary. Angels in the form
of my family brought home
milk and bread. I was grateful,
but I was hopeless. I had tried
to be God’s faithful servant.
Nothing went right.
I attended The Feast SM
Manila. Hope sprouted within
me when Kuya Lep said, “Hindi
laging Good Friday. Darating
din ang Easter Sunday mo.”
During worship, I shouted,
cried, surrendered, and claimed
freedom. In the silence of my
heart, God said, “I send you to
love.” While I sought release
from life, God gave me purpose
to live. I was set free.
Jesus went down from
heaven, sacrificed His life
and promised victory. He
understands our pain and gives
us hope. He is at The Feast
SM Manila. I found hope. My
broken heart finally got healed.
During last week’s Feast,
I realized that God’s love
overflows. He blessed me with
a very supportive and loving
family, real friends, and The
Feast SM Manila. No matter
what happens, even if I’d have
another depressive episode
(check-up alarm), I am loved. I
got enough sunflowers to beat
my zombies (as Kuya Lep put
it). As long as I got Jesus, my
love tank overflows.
When I reached the end of
myself, I got nothing to give
out, so I surrendered myself
to God’s love. I died to myself,
and when He raised me from
the dead to live again, I started
seeing miracles.
Through suffering, I saw
God’s glory like I’ve never
seen it before. Jesus used
death to give us life. He’s using
the worst things to make all
things beautiful in His time.
God didn’t hate me for being
depressed, wanting to die and
hating myself. He gave me
time, healed me and loved me
nonetheless.
Nothing can separate us
from God’s love because He
is love Himself, and through
Jesus, our identity is love. Love,
in the context of fallen man, is
not perfect, but what sets us
apart from the rest of the world
is that we know that imperfect
love is perfected by our loving
and perfect God who makes it
real.
Be loved, beloved. You were
made to love.
