May I take this opportunity once more to thank you for your unrelenting support during these
last few weeks. As we are now in Lent, I think that it is a great opportunity for reflection about our
own faith and perhaps a chance for spiritual renewal. I hope that during half term you were able to
enjoy time with your family and friends in preparation for Easter.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT LESSONS
The second personal development session has taken place for this academic year. Personal
Development lessons are now present in our curriculum to ensure that pupils are aware of current
issues in society, improving their knowledge of specific topics to improve their safety both in and out
of school.
The subjects studied by students during this session included Children’ Rights, Emotional Health and
Well-being, Cyber Safety and Radicalisation. Each session always finishes with advisory information
which outlines where to go for further information and support on each topic.
MUSIC NEWS
The following students have passed Music Exams:
Luiza Troccolo – passed her Grade 7 Musical Theatre Exam with a distinction.
Kofi Williamson – passed his first Guitar Exam.
A big well done to both!
Students from our ICE Department attended the Winter Multi
–Sports Games on Friday 9th February 2018. Our students
were a credit to the school and had a great time. They also
brought back "Nottinghamshire school games spirit of the
games award 2018". Winter multi-sports includes new age
curling, handball, and dodge ball. As well as representing the
school our students represented Gedling and achieved a
brilliant 6th place in the county.
