The loud glee of the Ilocanos added authenticity to<br />
the celebration’s core purpose. It made my whole<br />
Kannawidan Festival experience more enjoyable. Their<br />
hospitability and inviting aura drove us to one amazing<br />
kind of ride. One can easily find a home in Ilocos Sur, a<br />
home of pride and glorious touch of a sanctuary outside<br />
our zone boundaries.<br />
It was wonderful to see the Filipino traditional games<br />
being preserved as part of the rich culture and tradition<br />
of one’s community. In celebration of this year’s grandest<br />
festival, the Ilocos Sur provincial government prepared<br />
a day dedicated to all Ilocano people to once again<br />
experience the classic games. The “Kannawidan Paayayam”<br />
smeared a touch of our customs and traditions to<br />
our new generation of leaders.<br />
I also had the chance to experience the first ever Music<br />
and Arts Fest up north. In this year’s celebration of<br />
Kannawidan Festival, the first-ever Rhythm Fest was<br />
born in the beauteous province of Ilocos Sur. It is a threeday<br />
camp at the bustling beach of Sta. Catalina and<br />
that made it more sprightly fun for all the campers and<br />
Ilocano crowd.<br />
The longstanding resiliency and the historical fete<br />
knitted into absolute and neat allegories. This whole<br />
escapade taught me to be more free-minded person who<br />
is willing to accept the beautiful avenues waiting to be<br />
travelled by.<br />
