OWL PROWLS<br />

Houston Audubon Docent Guild sponsors 4 owl prowls for the 2017-18<br />

season. Owl prowls begin with a lively program on owls including an<br />

opportunity to meet live, rehabilitated owls followed by a walk in the<br />

woods in search of wild owls. For more information, to reserve and pay<br />

online go to www.houstonaudubon.org. Owl Prowl dates - <strong>March</strong> 9,<br />

<strong>2018</strong>. Owl Prowls start at 7 PM, end at 9 PM and begin in the log cabin<br />

at the Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary. The fee is $12 for adults and<br />

$8 for children (ages 6-17). All prowlers must be at least 6 years of age<br />

and there must be at least one adult present for each two children.<br />

Dress for walking in the woods and the weather. Please park in the<br />

Memorial Drive United Methodist Church west parking lot at 12955<br />

Memorial Drive or the Sanctuary’s small lot at 440 Wilchester. Pre-registration<br />

is required and there is a maximum number of participants<br />

for each prowl.<br />

6 TH ANNUAL “STRIKE OUT” AUTISM <strong>2018</strong><br />

April 29, <strong>2018</strong>, 11:00 AM-5:00 PM<br />

An exciting family fun day providing focused on educating and empowering<br />

others about the leading developmental disabiliy in the<br />

United States - autism. 7,500 fans and supporters, Hope For Three,<br />

County Judge Bob Hebert, all 18 City Mayors, 300 volunteers and<br />

the Sugar Land Skeeters, host over 400 family members from the<br />

autism community to a day full of friendship and baseball.<br />

Volunteers “buddy” up with a child prior to the game for play time<br />

on the field or in the playground area. During this time, parents<br />

and caregivers enjoy a social hour in the company of other adults<br />

at the Bud Light Pavilion; a rare occasion for many, a first-time<br />

opportunity for most<br />

A 2-hour buffet with complimentary lunch and soft drinks await<br />

the hosted families in the picnic area 700 volunteers and family<br />

members march around the field for an Autism Awareness Parade<br />

before Judge Hebert and City Mayors join on field to read a Proclamation<br />

of support recognizing April as Autism Awareness Month<br />

Then, it’s PLAY BALL!<br />

Sponsors, Mayors and other VIPs enjoy the game from hosted<br />

suites, while volunteers and families cheer on the home team!<br />
