Society’s A Night on Broadway<br />

concert Saturday, <strong>March</strong> 10, <strong>2018</strong><br />

at 7:30 PM, at The Foundry Church.<br />

Under the direction of Dr. Kevin M.<br />

Klotz, HCS Artistic Director, this concert<br />

features brilliant arrangements<br />

of Broadway classics.<br />

Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $20<br />

for seniors/students/veterans and<br />

$10 for children ages 5 and younger. Group rates are available. Tickets<br />

purchased at the door. The Foundry Church is one of the premiere<br />

choral venues in Houston with extraordinary acoustics. It is located in<br />

northwest Houston at 8350 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065 with easy<br />

Cypress Symphonic Band will hold their spring concert at 7 PM on <strong>March</strong><br />

24, <strong>2018</strong> at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 18081-C West Road,<br />

Houston, TX 77095-5585.<br />

‘Monsters, Myths, Legends, Heroes:’ a concert featuring music from popular<br />

films like “Robin Hood” (Michael Kamen), “Edward Scissorhands” and<br />

“Beetlejuice” (Danny Elfman); dramatic marches like “<strong>March</strong> to the Scaffold”<br />

(Hector Berlioz); some opera music with an “Excerpt from ‘Prelude to Parsifal’”<br />

(Richard Wagner): our 2017-<strong>2018</strong> ‘Calls for Scores’ winners Christopher<br />

Lowry and Arthur J Michaels and many others.<br />

After this production, Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company (MU) will be<br />

saying goodbye to their longtime home in Spring Street Studios and moving<br />

to Montrose, where The Classical Theatre Company has generously<br />

provided the company a new home in their Chelsea Market performance<br />

space. In addition to the move, MU will be producing a shorter season<br />

of two mainstage plays plus the annual Museum of Dysfunction short<br />

play festival in order to accommodate a greater focus on developing<br />

programs that engage the community in different ways.<br />
