Everybody loves a traditional wedding, and yet there are a number of people who also like to think outside the box.
Your wedding should be about you, the bride and the groom, and therefore should be something both memorable
and unique. Here are ten ideas for wedding themes you don't see all the time.
1-Redneck
Redneck weddings are surprisingly not as uncommon as you may think. Who wouldn't want a wedding out in the
country and true to the rugged style. Your wedding could be indoors but it might add to the authenticity to be married
under the hot sun bathing the country landscape. For the reception get the dance floor ready for the country music
and square dancing competition. Since the dress should be casual (maybe blue jeans and a flannel shirt?) hopefully
some of your guests won't mind getting messy for a wrestling matches in the mud pit.
2-Fantasy/Medieval
Once upon a time it was believed that the fantasy genre was reserved single middle-aged many playing Dungeons
and Dragons in their mom's basement. With the rising popularity of great stories like Lord of the Rings, Game of
Thrones, Harry Potter and more that's all changing. It's ok now to be a little geeky and even do so as a couple. You
can literally have the fairytale wedding you've always dreamed of and enjoy it with your Prince Charming, or perhaps
a knight in shining armor to rescue his damsel in distress. Decor will be medieval and magical, and everyone must
come in costume.
3-Scifi
Your marriage is going to be a new adventure, like exploring the new frontiers of outerspace. Star Wars fans and
Trekkis alike are welcome to attend with phasers and lightsabers in hand. And let's face it, no wedding is complete
without aliens and all the high tech gear that comes with them.
4-Murder Mystery “Who done it”
“You may now kiss the bride” says the priest as all the guests watch in their old time attire. But once wedding
proceedings are over...uh-oh, somebody's murdered the priest. It's up to you and your guests with the assistance of
colorful characters and puzzling clues to find out “Who done it?” Make your wedding come to life as you slip away
from the dull reception formalities to investigate with a grand mystery.
5-Rave
Break out the lights, the dry ice, the glow sticks and let the rave begin. Complete with a DJ and electronic music that
will have you and your guests dancing the night away with a roof-raiser to be remembered for years to come.
6-Pirates
Pirates are becoming all the rage right now. In fact, I'll bet you didn't know there was a “talk like a pirate” day, there's
got to be a wedding idea in their somewhere. Why not gather your crew and have your wedding on the deck of the
Jolly Roger or the Black Pearl with the ship's captain proceeding over the vows,
“I now pronounce you man and...arrrrrrggggg!”
And let's face it, shouldn't every wedding involve a search for buried or sunken treasure?

7-Gamer Weddings
There's no shortage of couple who constantly complain about one or the other spending more time gaming than with
them, but what about those rare special gamer couples? It's like a match made in heaven. Let your wedding feature
costumes and decor of all your favorite video game characters and even play your bride down the aisle to a theme
from one of your favorite gaming classics!
8-Old Western
Take a step back into the days of the wild west. Ever heard of a shot gun wedding? This is kind of like that. It's a
wedding complete with a sheriff, his deputies and some outlaws to crash the festivities, and don't forget the other
cowboys and Indians. Personally, if you need me I'll be enjoying a few drinks at the local saloon.
9-Beach

Summer weddings are some of the most popular, so why sweat in a heavy wedding gown and rental tux when you
could enjoy your wedding as a beach party. This could be a a Hawaiian Luau or a surfer's paradise, may a little bit of
both. There's nothing more beautiful (or more lively) than a beach party, and when the evening sunset falls below the
horizon at the end of the ocean, that's when the bonfire begins!
10-Winter Wonderland
While most weddings take place in the summer winter wedding's should be fun too. Set your wedding in a beautiful
winter wonderland complete with ice sculptures, snowmen, and exciting winter activities for all your guests and the
groom and bride to be. Depending on the time of year you could even make this a shindig for the Holiday's, wedding
on the North Pole anyone? Santa and his elves will be more than happy to help the happy couple plan the Christmas
festivities.
