BARRY MANILOW”<br />
Palm Springs cabaret singer Phillip Moore will bring his<br />
show, “Barry and Me: A Personal Tribute to Barry Manilow”<br />
to the MA4 on April 4, <strong>2018</strong>. The show is Phillip’s tribute to<br />
this amazing singer/songwriter that has been a part of his<br />
life since childhood.<br />
In the show, based on a journey back in time to the beginnings<br />
of Barry Manilow’s rise to fame, we follow a young<br />
man’s aspirations of becoming a singer and actor that led<br />
him to journey to California and start that new artistic<br />
career just a few years ago.. The production is narrated<br />
and sung by Phillip with keyboard accompaniment by<br />
Jason Weber.<br />
Joining Phillip for the April 4, <strong>2018</strong> show will be featured<br />
guest artist Darci Daniels, a well-known singer and actress<br />
who has performed extensively in San Diego as well as<br />
Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Darci plays both Bette<br />
Midler who he collaborated with in his early career, and<br />

Judy Garland who he recorded a song with on his “Duets”<br />
album.<br />
In addition to the many well-known hits we have all come<br />
to love (Weekend in New England, Mandy, One Voice,<br />
Copa, etc.) several lesser-known but beautiful songs Barry<br />
wrote will be featured.<br />
The show traces the dreams of a young boy (Phillip) who<br />
aspired to become a singer from his childhood to growing<br />
up and, finally, moving to California to pursue an artistic<br />
career. This young boy was heavily influenced by Manilow’s<br />
songs which he learned at an early age. Manilow’s<br />
early career is also highlighted, peppered with interesting<br />
tidbits about his life.<br />
