THE<br />
BURNHAMS<br />
The Burnhams is the name given to the<br />
villages grouped around the River Burn<br />
on the North Norfolk Coast.<br />
There is Burnham Market, the main village,<br />
Burnham Overy Staithe on the coast,<br />
Burnham Thorpe, where Nelson grew up, with<br />
his father Rector <strong>of</strong> the local church and the<br />
villages <strong>of</strong> Burnham Overy, Burnham Deepdale<br />
and Burnham Norton.<br />
The pretty village <strong>of</strong> Burnham Market is full <strong>of</strong><br />
delightful houses, cottages and quirky shops all<br />
situated around a village green.<br />
Burnham Market is known as ‘Chelsea-on-Sea’<br />
for its popularity with visitors from London.<br />
