This season we are working with Skipton Camerata, their Orchestra in Residence, who are an award winner in audience development, to bring more opportunities for young people to experience their music. Each Skipton Camerata concert will have a matinee performance from 1.30pm – 2.30pm for under 18s to attend free of charge. She tries to make friends with fellow ducklings as well as with frogs, cats and even a fox, but realising she is not like any of these animals, she is left sad and alone. Follow the duckling on her journey as she overcomes her troubles and realises that she was beautiful all along. As seen on CBeebies, Northern Ballet’s sell-out productions for children are not to be missed. 17-20 May Awful Auntie When Stella sets off to visit London with her parents, Lord and Lady Saxby, she has no idea her life is in danger! Waking up three months later, only her Aunt Alberta can tell Stella what has happened. But not everything Aunt Alberta tells her turns out to be true and Stella quickly discovers she’s in for the fight of her life against her very own awful Auntie! We go North on a journey of adventure and discovery, accompanied by the brave and mighty ThorNogson and the great green bird Graculus. 28 Apr Christopher’s Caterpillars Christopher Nibble and his best friend Posie have been busy growing plants and food in their garden whilst taking care of their six hairy pet caterpillars. But when their crawly comrades disappear, the gardening guinea pigs have to turn detective! Will Christopher & Posie crack the case and bring their caterpillars home to Dandeville… or have they vanished forever? 12 May Northern Ballet present Ugly Duckling Don’t miss Northern Ballet’s hugely popular Ugly Duckling as it returns to the stage for the first time since 2013. Ugly Duckling tries to make friends with all sorts of animals but she is left sad and alone. Follow the duckling on her journey as she overcomes her troubles and realises that she was beautiful all along. Retelling the famous Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, Ugly Duckling is the perfect opportunity for your little ones to enjoy live ballet, music and theatre for the first time.
