Don’t Panic, It’s Organic
The non-political problem with the wall

There is one big problem
with Trump’s
wall that few seem
to be mentioning or talking
about.
This is not a political
statement, but I feel compelled
to talk about this.
If you have been following
my column here and/
or online, you know I am
basically an Earth warrior.
I do my best to protect and
nourish this wonderful
planet. Along with defending
trees, I also speak on
behalf of the animals.
OK, so birds have no
problem flying over the
wall, but what about everyone
else?
For millions of years,
animals have traveled
from one end of the world
to the other using the land
as their highway. They
have evolved this way.
They must travel to continue
their species and to
get the food and nutrients
they need.
The plants also need the
animals to roam. They depend
on these animals to
provide the basic nutrients
they too need. Animals
die, and they are recycled
back into the web of life,
bringing with them trace
minerals, microbes and
more.
There does not seem to
be any concern over building
a wall that separates
these animals.
It is really their land,
not ours. They, after all,
were here first. It is unfortunate
enough that animals
are dying all over the
world due to humans.
Animals have had it bad
since humans arrived, and
it has been one getting
worse. We must begin to
respect these beautiful
creatures and give back
to them their rights. It is
not too late to think of
how what we plan to do
will affect the animals that
we plan to ignore in the
construction of whatever
we do.
The chicken crossed
the road because it had to.
Roadkill is bad. Millions
of animals die on our
roadways every year.
According to Wikipedia,
one of the earliest observers
of roadkill was the
naturalist Joseph Grinnell,
who noted in 1920: “This
[roadkill] is a relatively
new source of fatality; and
if one were to estimate
the entire mileage of such
roads in the state [California],
the mortality must
mount into the hundreds
and perhaps thousands
every 24 hours.”
That was in 1920.
Multiply that by a few
thousand kills per day in
California alone, and you
will get the idea.
It is not just animals
that die on the roads, but
billions of insects, too.
The wall could have
many negative consequences
on various animals
— including death,
injury and suffering.

mentioned plus more and
should be a must-read for
anyone.
Many other countries
that have walls are finding
out how bad it is for their
environment.
So it is not just a wall
that I am writing about,
but about all life on Earth.
We are damaging the
environment to the point
of no return.
Do we think that we
humans will survive for
long without animals,
insects, birds, and other
creatures? To ignore the
signs all around us is to
ignore our own survival.
The warnings are everywhere.
Sticking your head
in the sand does nothing
to change the warnings.
I wrote an article called
“How to kill all living
beings on Earth within
100 years.” I have since
changed it to 50 years
and it seems I may have
to change it to less, but I
hope not.
It is sad to think that
we have polluted everything
to the point that all
life will die. This climate
change we have started
(yes, we started it) is not
a typical climate change.
Climate change is normal
if left to Mother Nature,
but not normal if caused
by humans. Humans can
ignore Mother Nature in
their quest for wealth. We
have crossed all 10 environmental
boundaries, and
there is no going back. We
cannot repair this, so our
future is up in the air now.
Unless we act like conscious
beings, we all will
be unconscious beings.
Please take a moment
to breathe. This is not the
clean air we need. Our
water is polluted, and so
is our Earth. The oceans
are getting destroyed, and
toxic radiation is everywhere.
Almost everything we
eat has a soup of toxins in
it. It is really stupid of us
to not think about what we
are doing to this wonderful
planet.
We all must stand up
and be heard. If you do

yourself or the animals,
insects and birds, then

change, Mother Nature
will change things, and it
will not include us.
