Jesus, can you
hear me?
There is a God in the heavens above
I prayed to Him last night
On bended knees, I cried out to him
Surrendered in my fight.
Chained to sin with lustful desires
My choices brought the pain
Now I’m dressed in lonely attire
These pleasures sought in vain.
Oh Jesus, can you hear me?
Can you mend this soul that bleeds
Can you ease the pain that aches
within?
Jesus can you rescue me?
Oh Jesus, how I need you
Please turn your ears to me
I’m your lost sheep that went astray
Please help me to find my way.
Temptation called, I took the bait
Then darkness swallowed me
Now I long for love, life and peace
Please end this misery.
I’ve run so much, left family
Self-centeredness prevailed
My traveled path, the end of me
Destruction now unveiled.
Oh Jesus, can you hear me?
I’m lost, I’m cold, I’m scared
Can’t go on like this anymore
It’s been awhile since someone
cared.
Oh Jesus, can you love me?
Can you forgive me all my sins?
Can You take the ugliness I’ve
sown
Call me child, no longer disowned?
Apply your atoning sacrifice to me
And Lord Jesus, set me free.
I am no longer the black sheep, now
I’m part of the flock.
I follow and trust in the Good Shepherd,
Jesus Christ, who died for me,
shed his blood for me, forgave me.
I’ll never be disowned.
