Conclusions
► The SWAN wave model was modified to include an
additional friction routine to evaluate roughness due to
ripples.
► Increased dissipation due to bottom friction from
ripple bedforms had a positive effect on the accuracy
of modelling shallow depths with the existence of
ripples.
► Roughness due to grain size also provided an
acceptable roughness coefficient in the absence of
ripples.
