Parade in partnership with Katy SummerFest at<br />

the Cinco Ranch Branch Library located at 2620<br />

Commercial Center Drive in Katy.<br />

• An essay and art contest for participating students<br />

in Fort Bend ISD, Katy ISD and Lamar CISD<br />

campuses within Precinct 3. All contestants are<br />

chosen by their participating campus teachers.<br />

• Best of Show scholarship prizes will be awarded<br />

in each category which will include an art contest<br />

- one for elementary, one for junior high and<br />

one for high school and an essay contest - one<br />

for K-2 nd grades, one for 3 rd -5 th grades and one<br />

for 6 th -8 th grades.<br />

• Judges Choice award winners will receive prizes<br />

through our generous sponsors.<br />

• Cutest Character Parade - children ages 2 to 10<br />

come dressed up in their favorite book characters<br />

and are led through LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch<br />

by a Sherriff’s motorcycle, high school drumline,<br />

drill team members, cheerleaders, KVPAC, Katy<br />

ISD theatre kids, high school mascots and the<br />

Chick-fil-A cow. Parade registration is open from<br />

10:30-11 AM at the library and the parade begins<br />

promptly at 11 AM.<br />

• Live performances by high school choirs.<br />

Bounce House, Obstacle Course, Photo Booth,<br />

Face Painting, Balloon Twister, Mad Science<br />

Demo and make and take.<br />

Held at the American Shooting Center, 16500<br />

Westheimer Pkwy. This event helps raise money<br />

to help send our FFA students to district, state<br />

and national Leadership and Career Development<br />

competitions, the Texas FFA State Convention<br />

as well as providing educational tools for<br />

our FFA teachers. In the past, teams of four from<br />

our school, family teams, local business teams<br />

and community teams have signed up for this<br />

competition. We also provide online registration<br />

starts at 6:30 PM on both dates listed above.<br />

Candidates will introduce themselves and provide<br />

opening remarks. Candidates will leave<br />

stage and position themselves in a predetermined<br />

area of the room to make themselves<br />

available to answer questions one on one with<br />

anyone interested in asking them.<br />

CAF HOUSTON WING’S WARBIRD<br />

WEEKEND AND OPEN HOUSE<br />

On Saturday and Sunday, <strong>April</strong> 14 th & 15 th from10<br />

AM until 5 PM, those big, old airplanes with the<br />

mighty round engines will be flying again as<br />

the Commemorative Air Force’s Houston Wing<br />

presents its <strong>2018</strong> Warbird Weekend and Open<br />

House at Hangar B-5, West Houston Airport.<br />

Get up close and feel the prop wash and hear<br />

the noise as radial engines power these historic<br />

WWII aircraft. See some of the old planes your<br />

father, grandfather or grandmother learned to<br />

fly for World War II.<br />

Admission is $15 per CAR at the gate or $10 per<br />

car if ticket is purchased in advance online (check<br />

our website or facebook page for details) and<br />

earns you a day of aircraft and military vehicle<br />

displays, museum exhibits and fun.<br />
