St. Elizabeth’s Educational Day-Out Services (S.E.E.D.S), is<br />
a developmentally appropriate Catholic Early Childhood<br />
Program at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church serving<br />
children 18 months to five years of age. We are Nationally<br />
Accredited through NAEYC and have been serving this<br />
community for over 25 years. Our program provides a wellrounded<br />
education in a spirit of exploration and discovery<br />
along with specialty classes-Music, Spanish and Science<br />
Enrichment Lab. We are now open for registration for 2<br />
day, 3 day and 5 day session options along with before and<br />

KATY ISD HOSTS 33 RD ANNUAL KATY FOLK LIFE FESTIVAL<br />
Ever wondered what life was like in Texas during the late 1800’s? At the upcoming<br />
33 rd Annual Katy Folk Life Festival, visitors will get a chance to experience pioneer<br />
life by seeing how they dressed, how they survived, the types of foods they prepared<br />
and even where their children went to school. Other activities include: blacksmith<br />
demonstrations, hand quilting, woodworking and roping skills presentations.<br />
Admission is only $1. The festival will be held at the Kenneth D. Welch Outdoor Learning<br />
Center, 6301 S. Stadium Lane, Katy, TX 77494 on Saturday, <strong>April</strong> 7 th from 9 AM-4 PM.<br />
KATY ISD APPROVES<br />
INSTRUCTIONAL CALENDARS FOR NEXT TWO YEARS<br />
As part of the Katy Independent School District, “Your District, Your Voice” initiative,<br />
the community has provided its input for the upcoming yearly instructional calendar.<br />
The Katy ISD Board of Trustees has approved the following option for the <strong>2018</strong>-2019<br />
academic year:<br />

School Begins: Wednesday, August 15 th<br />
School Ends: Thursday, May 23 rd<br />
Instructional Calendar Days: 177<br />
Full week off for Thanksgiving<br />
“The District is required to have a minimum of 75,600 minutes of instruction per school<br />
year,” says Bonnie Holland, associate superintendent for administration, governance<br />
and legal affairs. “With the options approved, Katy ISD has enough calendar minutes<br />
to cover two bad weather days,” added Holland.<br />
