POSTERS
Students have planned their activity:
─ they identify the problem;
─ analyse it into the main parts;
─ apply the Scratch tools;
─ test and reformulate.
The Scratch Coding (your country) project has proposed:
─ create a game about each partner country;
─ develop programming skills in a pleasant way;
─ develop linguistic skills;
─ develop collaborative activities;
─ enrich students' knowledge of Europe;
─ Apply knowledge in a transversal way.
In February, we launched a project on the eTwinning platform that was
based on a software that is not being studied during classroom lessons.
Together with a partner from Portugal, we proposed the Coding (your country)
project with Scratch. After the project was approved by the National Support
Service, partners from Italy and Poland joined us.
The project offered students an adventure in Scratch. Through project
activities, they had to create a game about their country. With the help of this
they asked questions about their country, they located it, they made a map of
Europe. After the introductory questions on the name of the country, the
capital, they focused on a field such as history, geography or personalities in
their country.
Students have planned their activity:
─ established their project theme (geography, history, Romanian personalities)
─ have identified the steps to achieve the project;
─ outlined the main parts of the project;
─ analyzed and collaborated in determining the content and questions of the project;
─ have applied the Scratch tools to complete the project;
─ tested and reformulated the project;
─ verified the final draft;
─ presented their project.
In February-June 2017, on the eTwinning platform, we created a project
that uses programming concepts, a project that develops computational
thinking. Through it we have promoted knowledge of European countries in a
creative, different way, and at the same time, we have developed our 21st
century competencies in our students.
