Welcome to a New Year.
The fan base continues to grow
and I am happy to have you
aboard.
2018 is rolling along at full
speed. Hopefully, you have
experienced the debut of my
new season of the podcast
Thoughts in the Car or checked
out my blog Janice’s Take on It.
Your feedback is greatly

Hello 2018
In first quarter, I have two new
titles to release. With more to
come during the course of the
year.
Also, I am introducing a publishing
arm where authors who want
help bringing their book to
publication can use our services.
I have two (2) authors who will be
debuting their titles under the
publishing umbrella.
I will continue making
appearances at different venues
throughout the year. I am always
looking to gain new readership
while creating awareness about
my catalogue.
Things are going to be a bit hectic,
but it’s nothing that I cannot
handle.

Art & Craft Show
I was very excited to participate in
the Latimer Hall Art and Craft
Show. Unfortunately, the weather
kept patrons away but I was able
to make a few connections with
the other vendors who were in
attendance.
They were all quite creative and I
was impressed with their
products.

Movie of the Year
The much anticipated movie of
2018 is The Blank Panther. It was
created by Marvel Studios and
Disney. Audiences around the
world stood in line to see it. I have
to admit I was one of them.
Actually, I did an advance ticket
purchase more than once to view
it a couple of times during
opening weekend.
The experience gave me such a
good feeling of pride and unity
with all other movie goers. Of
course, I am not going to review
the film for those who have not
seen it and intend to go. It was a
wonderful fantasy movie that I
believe anyone who wants to see
it would appreciate.
A small group met at Cinebistro
which is a dinner and a movie
type of theater for a late
afternoon matinee on opening
day and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Online Video Course
Throughout my travels, I
encounter writers who are on the
journey to becoming published
authors and the one question that
I get all the time is “How to get to
the finish line?”
Finally, I took the time to outline
in video a format, a guide for
writers to get their stories to
completion as well as launch their
first book all by themselves.
My online video course is now
available for enrollment. The
course gives some basic
guidelines as well as a step-bystep
tutorial to launch a book on
the Amazon platform.
Once a student enrolls he or she
will have unlimited access to the
course for the period of one year.

An Evening in North Carolina
Travelling with friends is always a
good thing. My long time friend of
nearly twenty years asked me to
take a road trip to a concert in
North Carolina. Of course, I am
always ready for a new adventure
and happily accompanied him.
We drive through Friday
afternoon traffic to arrive in
Charlotte, North Carolina at the
Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.
Its their first Friday of the month
Jazz night and the featured
musician is Frederic Yonnet. He is
a world-renowned Harmonica
player.
The four-piece band was
outstanding as each member was
allowed to shine. Mr. Yonnet’s
performance was masterful,
magnetic, electric, and engaging.
He had the audience entranced
by his melodic rhythm like a pied
piper lurking mice down a
cobblestone road in a fairy tale.
He was worth the trip.

Circus Time
Well, I do not know about you,
but it has been a long time since I
went to the circus. My
grandbabies are always looking
for me to take them on a new
adventures so I took them all
under the big top.
The Universoul Circus came to
town as it does every year. Oddly
enough, I have never experienced
their brand before now. Needless
to say, it was a treat for all of us.
All of my grandchildren were in
attendance. Needless to say, they
were fascinated by the all the
sights and sounds.
It was colorful, interactive, and
exhilarating under the big tent. I
have to say, it was the best circus
ever.

Library Author Expo
The DeKalb County Public Library
held a local author expo and I was
lucky enough to be included to
get exposure.
There were thirty-two authors
present from debut to seasoned
to best-selling to author books
being adapted to film. I was in
good company.
A constant flow of library patrons
who showed plenty of interest
and made purchases enhanced
the experience.
We learned about the ways to
pitch books to the library as well
as what goes into a library’s
decision-making process to
choose books for the general
public.
Thank you to the programming
administrator for the inclusion as
well as to everyone who
purchased one or more of my
books.

Brenda and Richard have a twenty year relationship
with the normal ebbs and flows. One day Brenda
decides that she needs a fresh start. A start without
Richard by her side. She want to be her own woman.
Without consideration for her current commitments,
she goes off to begin again. Brenda will no longer be
the victim of shattered dreams and missed
opportunities. Regardless of who her decision hurts,
she is going for the brass ring.
John, James, and Jack make it through the high school
years but not without leaving a trail of good and bad
memories. Each begins to take on the responsibility of
a young adult. They believe their friendship is no
longer valid, but they discover that is far from the
truth. Households, relationships, and children all
come into play. One by one, each realizes that they
are better together than apart. The decisions to be
made get harder; choices are grave and the trio
muddle through not without being scathed.
