order to educate, inspire,
and empower girls and
women of color and people
with disabilities to break
through barriers in STEM,
entrepreneurship, and
the legal profession.
Only 2% of Scientists ans
Engineers are Black Women.
I am
that 2%. This quote stems
from a movement I started
to increase the
numbers of African
American women in STEM
and to have the current
African
American women to be bold
and to no longer be hidden
figures in these
areas. Each of us are raising
our hands and proudly
proclaiming to be a
part of the 2% so that we
can !.) show this country and
the world where we
are and 2.) encourage more
girls and women like us to
pursue careers in
these areas to increase the
number of African American
women in these
fields.
