East student to run cross country
and track country at Augustana

Katie DeJulius, a standout
athlete from Lincoln-Way
East High School, has announced
that she’ll be attending
Augustana this fall
and plans on being a member
of coach David Thompson’s
Viking track and field
and cross country teams.
A four-year letter winner
in Coach Wendy Hegarty’s
cross country program at
Lincoln-Way East, DeJulius
ran a personal three-mile best
of 18:57.0 at the 2015 IHSA
Class 3A state championships.
She was also an All-
Southwest Suburban Conference
honoree that season.
DeJulius also earned four

LWE 3, Joliet West 1
Allison Jaquith was 2 for 4
with two RBIs, Lexi Krause
was 2 for 4, Paige Geraghty
was 2 for 4 with one RBI
and Danielle Drogemuller
had 13 strikeouts during the
March 30 game.

Brandon Laux was the
winning pitcher (1-0) with
five innings pitched and
two hits, Ethan Lambrigger
earned the save in relief and

program. She ran a personal-best
:46.80 in the 300
hurdles at the 2016 Class 3A
state championships, finishing
15th. She also competes
in the 100 hurdles, where
her best is :15.64; the 800,
where she’s run 2:25.09 outdoors
and 2:25.95 indoors;
and the 400, where her PR of
1:02.80 came indoors. She’s
also posted indoor hurdles
bests of :09.40 at 55 meters
and :10.26 at 60.
DeJulius earned a varsity
basketball letter at Lincoln-
Way East as well.
The daughter of Mark and
Lori DeJulius of Frankfort,
Katie is a member of National,
Science, Latin, Pi Sigma
Pi and Mu Alpha Theta honor
societies. She is an Illinois
State Scholar, an AP Scholar
with honors and was an
eight-semester member of the
Lincoln-Way East high honor
roll. She is planning on pursuing
Augustana majors in biochemistry
and data analytics.
DeJulius will be joining
Viking programs that have
won twelve College Conference
of Illinois and Wisconsin
outdoor track & field
championships and seven
CCIW cross county titles
since 1988. 2018-19 will
be Thompson’s fourth year
as Augustana’s head coach
in both track and field and
cross country.

The Attack Volleyball
Club is excited to announce
that the 2018 Spring Rookie
program registration
is now open.
Players from ages 6-14 are
invited to participate in the
six-week program, which is
designed to cover all areas
of volleyball, from serving
and setting to hitting.
Attack Volleyball Club's
Rookie program helps prepare
kids for recreational
leagues, school teams and
future club teams.
The 2018 Spring Rookie
Program runs from April 13
through May 18.
