A word from the Principal<br />

New students and staff were welcomed into the school at<br />

the start of term with our traditional powhiri. We have both<br />

13 new teachers this year who have brought a variety of<br />

skills and experience to the staffroom and the largest Year<br />

9 cohort in a number of years. Our new Student Leaders<br />

have done a great job in helping to settle the Year 9s into<br />

school.<br />

I want to congratulate all students who were involved in<br />

Polyfest for another year of excellent results. Our students<br />

always perform with pride and represent themselves, their<br />

culture and the school very well. I want to particularly<br />

mention the Cook Islands Group who won their division<br />

for the second year in a row and won almost all of their<br />

different sections.<br />

I also want to congratulate all students from last year on<br />

another year of improving NCEA results. We have seen<br />

an increase in our results over the past four years and<br />

we aim to maintain this improvement in 2018. See more<br />

about our NCEA results below.<br />

Our NCEA results have been improving over<br />

the past four years and this year we had our<br />

best ever NCEA Level 3 and NCEA Level 1<br />

results. We aim to continue this improvement<br />

in 2018.<br />
