Weekly sessions in either Patchwork & Quilting or
Dressmaking. Great value and an opportunity to meet
like-minded people. Why not finish off a project or start a
new one. There are no Tutors at these sessions but we will
always try to help where we can.

Your Sewing Time with Alison
12-3pm 2 nd Monday each Month £20.00
You provide the pattern, fabric and other bits &
bobs required and Alison will provide the advice, guidance & tools.
Together you will work on your very own project of choice. You may
have already started a project and have found yourself a bit stuck or
you just need that extra bit of motivation to finish a pile of UFOs
(Unfinished Objects). Come along and get the help & advice you need.
Please get in touch to discuss your project in advance. This workshop is
for dressmaking projects
(clothes) only but can be for
menswear, ladies or children’s

Brand new for this year a monthly
Crochet-A-Long with Jill. The
blanket-will take approx. 5 months,
there is a big central block then 3 other blocks that
would be repeated and a final month to do the border.

Knit and Natter with Lewy £5 per session
Dates: Every 2 nd Wednesday in the month 6.30-8.30pm

This is Lewis Ryan (Lewy). Lewy loves knitting and has an
addiction to yarn, so much so he has given up the day job
to pursue this passion through his business Manknit.

Evie’s Applique Sampler (Quilt as You Go) with Rosemary

Bookings being taken for this very popular class,
which is already running. A stunning quilt offering
another set of skills to develop!! This pattern
features pieced and appliqued blocks in a modern
take on the sampler quilt. You can construct the quilt
using the Quilt-As-You-Go techniques using the
‘Sasher Tool’. The finished quilt is 146 cm x 173 cm (57.5" x 68").
Bag of the Month Club with Rosemary
9.30 – 12.30pm 1 st Saturday each Month £15

This is a ½ day session but occasionally a full day …a
very popular Bag Making class each month working on a
variety of By Annie Bags. Rosemary will take you through
all the tips with lots to learn from how to install zippers, use mesh and vinyl
and to how to make your bags look handmade not homemade. You choose the
bag you want to make…be warned its addictive, plenty of patterns in the shop
to choose from, with some samples too.
Dressmaking with Alison – AKA BagladyBird
Alison AKA BagladyBird has been with Oh Sew Sweet for
over a year now and come with over 20 years of creative
dressmaking and pattern drafting experience. A Fashion
Graduate of the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, Alison has
specialised in creating bespoke occasion wear in
collaboration with a range of clients. We always receive
excellent feedback about her knowledge and teaching style…
very patient and explains things in a very good way!

This is one of Alison’s most popular workshops, so
we decided to bring it to Oh Sew Sweet! It’s such a
great dress to wear. They are easy to dress up or dress down and you can feel
office smart or weekend ready depending on the fabric and how you style the
shift dress. In this workshop you will learn about facings and darts.

Introduction to Wholecloth Hand quilting with Rosemary (£25.00 incs.

Dates: Saturday 14 th April 1.30pm -4.30pm
Learn to approach hand quilting
as a freehand drawing on your
quilt. Rosemary will share how
to develop your hand stitching skills should you wish
to move away from the sewing machine! Hand quilting
may become your favourite antidote to the rush and bustle of your busy life.
We may be able to inspire you to pick up a needle and thread and finish your
work by hand, with beautiful designs and surprisingly easy techniques. Stepby-step
using the brilliant pre-printed Muslin sheets to start you off, what
could be better. Skill Level: All from Beginner’s to those more experienced.
Teddy Bear with Jane £25 (FREE! Pattern to take home)
Dates: Sunday 22 nd April 10.30am – 4.00pm
A repeat of this popular class with Jane loved by
many this lovely Teddy Bear class is always
popular! Make sure you book as soon as places fill
up very fast. What better way to send a Sunday
than sewing this little beauty!
Beginners Baby/Lap Quilt with Bev £30 (FREE!
Pattern to take home)
Dates: Sunday 29 th April 10.30am – 4.00pm
We love a simple, classic star quilt block and
this LeMoyne or Lone Star variation, we think
is timeless and traditional. It can easily be
given a modern, graphic look and because of its simplicity it
makes very simple baby or lap quilt from a traditional block. It can
be made quickly and easily and it’s a great beginner project as well.

Absolute Beginners Sewing with Alison £25.00 (Fabrics included!)

This is a great class with
Alison to get you started on
the path to sewing
glory…numbers are kept
small for individual
attention. On this Absolute Beginner’s class, get
sewing machine savvy in this 3-hour class and make this handy Tote
Bag and leave with enough knowledge to confidently make your own
projects at home! Suitable for Juniors too 10+
Westalee Rulers – Summer Series 1 with Rosemary,
Introduction to Ruler Work £20.00
Dates: Saturday 12 th May 1.30pm – 4.30pm
If you have purchased the Westalee Ruler Foot
or would like to know what it can do for your quilting this class is for
you! Designed to Quilt with your domestic sewing machine without
drawing a design or following a pattern, the Westalee ruler foot and
templates offer endless possibilities. For this beginning class you will
need the ruler foot for your specific machine, plus the arc rul er that
comes with it. The foot and ruler will be for "Low" or "High" shank,
depending on your machine (see picture of the ruler
and foot). Note that there are some machines that
may use a "medium" shank.
Ask Oh Sew Sweet to order the correct one for your
machine if you haven’t got one.
This first class will make use of just this one rule r for the entire
project, as you will both design, and stitch, the small 22" wall quilt.

Introduction to Rag Rugging Make a Cushion with Jill £55.00 inc. Full Kit!
Dates: Sunday 6 th May 11.00am -4.00pm
A lovely day giving you the skills you need to be
able to start any rag rug project for yourself at
home. With plenty help throughout the day you will
learn how to use the rag rug equipment, how to
work with the hessian, how to
choose and prepare materials, how to design for
rag rug, how to do the two different types of rag
rugging (loopy and shaggy) and how to finish your
work. During the session you will get the
opportunity to begin a cushion, everything is
included in the Kit to get you started!

What a fantastic class and great for
beginners join Jane to make the
popular Sewing Cube…great storage, multi pockets can
be used as a pin cushion, needle keeper and it is great
to take to class or leave in your sewing room.
The Mexican Star Block with Arlene £30.00
Dates: Sunday 20 th May 10.30am – 4.00pm
Learn how to make a simple
block look dimensional
through curved strip piecing.
Arlene will show this technique and how to be
creative to get curves by turning triangle edges
back. Sew come along and get creative!

Free Motion Embroidery Fun with Jill C £25.00
Dates: Sunday 3rd June 10.30am – 2.30pm
Free Motion Stitching is back again with the talented Jill where she will
show you how to use your machine as a drawing tool. This is fun and
liberating and easier than you think! Join Jill and she will show you how
to create some fab images using scraps and you can then either put
them in pictures or cards. Some samples made in previous class!

Bags are always a popular class and
this time we have chosen some tantalizing tapestry
upholstery fabrics. Jane will show you
how to create a bag that is big enough for your
sewing machine. Fabrics are included in the price,
with a brilliant range to choose from.
Bev’s Beautiful Butterfly Block £30
Dates: Sunday 24 th June 10.30am – 4.00pm
One of the most admired Quilts in
the shop. This is a repeat of this
beautiful Butterfly Block Workshop
with Bev. It can be made into a Quilt,
Cushion or Bag. Come and learn
applique techniques and how to Quilt as You Go.
Scrappy Trip Around the World with Janet B £30.00
Dates: Saturday 30 th June 10.00am – 4.00pm
Janet has been a Tutor for many years and Scrappy
Quilts that combine different fabrics to make
unique quilts are one of her favourites. Let’s get Scrappy Tripping
and throw away the usual organisation of colour and free ourselves
to let anything go! When made using planned chains of colour that
form radiating diamonds around each centre square, this pattern is
called "many trips around the world". This is a great quilt for
beginners and experienced quilters alike. The easy strip piecing
method makes blocks go together quickly. It’s a great way to use up
your scraps, jelly rolls and fat quarters.

Westalee Rulers – Summer Series 2 with Rosemary, Introduction to Ruler Work
and Design £30
Dates: Saturday 7 th July 10.30am – 4.00pm
Have you tried free-motion quilting on your
domestic sewing machine, only
to find you can’t move around
as “free-motion” as you would
wish? Do you want to sew beautiful, simple
designs without the expertise required for all -
over free motion designs? Then, these classes
are for you! Most students do move in a freemotion
manner, but the Westalee rulers make all the difference and
offer endless possibilities. Join us to learn how to attach the foot, set -
up your machine and utilize the templates included in the Ru ler Foot
and Quilting Template Starter Kit. For this class you will need the
Template Starter Set templates and will stitch out 3 -4 Sampler
Blocks.
Oh Sew Sweet can provide the Starter Template Set to order and the
correct one for your machine if you haven’t got one.

Easy Charm Lap/Baby Quilt with Bev (Charm pack included) £35
Dates: Sunday 8 th July 10.30am – 4.00pm
Sometime a steady supply of baby quilts for gifts,
is needed to be whipped up quickly. So here is a
quick and easy baby or lap quilt using a charm
pack. This is certainly not a new or original
design, but we love the finished look.
The Amazing Porthole Quilt Block with Janet B £30
Dates: Sunday 22 nd July 10.30am – 4.00pm
We thought we would bring you
something a bit different! Portholes
are a reverse appliqué technique that
allow you to make circular apertures
that you can then fill with Improv patchwork or novelty
fabrics. All circles can be the same size or you can vary them.
Janet will also demonstrate circular machine quilting with the walking
foot as part of the porthole workshop.
Jelly – Roll Rug (Pattern included) £35
Dates: Sunday 29 th July 10.30am – 4.00pm
Why not spend a day making
this colorful, fun rug which is approximately
30in x 44in and made from one Jelly-Roll,
forty-two 2-1/2-inch fabric strips, and 100
percent cotton batting.

It is advisable to bring your own cottons, bobbins, scissors etc. to all classes. Please
check beforehand for a full list of requirement’s per class
Some equipment is available within classes such as rotary
cutters and mats, however there is often not enough to go
around a full class so you will therefore be required to share.
We like to encourage you to bring your own machine but please ensure it is in full
working order. Our Janome Machines are available to hire, please check availability
before class
