Join Rosemary each week to
learn a new technique or start your
journey to Patchwork & Quilting. We have a wide range of
projects for you to choose from including simple cushions
or bags to lovely quilts…we help you choose! We can
help you to progress through the quilt making process
and working on techniques that will assist you in
completing a quilt from start to finish. You may come
along and work on an existing project too.
Bookings are advised, you can move from either morning or
afternoon session each week so long as it is booked in advance.

Have you started a dressmaking project but
not managed to finish it? Maybe you need help
with making it fit in the correct way or are you a beginner who need to
get going with a sewing project?
Then these monthly sewing clinics are for you.
Alison will provide the advice, guidance & tools
and together you will work through any queries
you may be struggling with. You may have
already started a project and have found
yourself a bit stuck or you just need that extra
bit of motivation to finish a pile of
UFOs (Unfinished Objects). Come
along and get the help & advice you
need. Please get in touch to discuss
your project in advance. This
workshop is for dressmaking projects (clothes) only
but can be for menswear, ladies or children’s wear.
Alison has years of experience and always receive excellent feedback
about her patient teaching style.

The Kabuki Tee is a modern, oversized t-shirt,
designed to look relaxed and feel easy to wear in a
woven fabric without restricting movement. The body is much wider than a
regular t-shirt and the sleeves are longer than normal, sitting just above the
elbow, with the angular armholes being its hallmark feature.
The LB Pullover
Saturday 30 th November

The LB pullover is a quick and easy to sew jumper
with full length sleeves, designed to be made in a low
stretch fabric or a woven. It comes with two options. Option A is a turtle neck,
option B is a regular crew neck.
The body is cut wide and boxy with a relaxed fit and low dropped shoulders.
The dropped shoulders enable the style to have ample room around the bicep
but still allow the sleeves to be cut straight and slim, so you have the golden
combination of comfort without being swamped in fabric, and the jumper still
looks polished.

Come along and find out how to work with Cork and
see how versatile it is for sewing and embellishing
your makes. This fabulous workshop includes the
fabrics, cork and pattern. Suitable for all levels and
we even have some cute Christmas fabrics too if you
want to start early!
Introduction to Collage Quilting with Eileen £45.00 (inc Pattern &Pattern Ease)
Date: Saturday 14 th September 10.00am – 4.00pm
These classes are proving to be very
popular, so we decided to run an
introductory workshop on the art of
Collage Quilting. Once shown how it is a
quick and easy technique and is so
therapeutic. This workshop will cover
tracing out your pattern, cutting
techniques and how to put your
masterpiece together.
Get to Know Your Machine with Christine £20.00 inc (fabric for cushion)
Dates: Sunday 15 th September 10.30 – 12.30
A back to basics workshop,
prefect if you are a beginner or
just want to brush up on the
intricacies of your machine. You
will make a simple cushion to
test out your new-found skills.

Piped Cushion with Christine £20.00
Dates: Sunday 15 th 1.00pm -4pm
Learn how to add an extra touch
to your items with this class. You
will learn the basic principles of
making your own piping, and how
to incorporate it into a cushion
cover to brighten up your home.
This class is suitable for anyone with a basic knowledge of using a sewing
machine who wants to add another skill to their bow. Note: for this class you
will need a piping foot for your machine. Bring your own (if you have one) or a
foot suitable for most machines will be available to buy on the day for £3.25.
Trio of Toys with Jane S £35.00 (incs. Pattern and 2 FQ, s)
Date: Sunday 22 nd September 10.00am – 4.00pm
Perfect for Beginners or those who just love
to make Toys! These Tilda Style Toys with
Jane are always very popular! We have
Giraffe, Elephant and Bunny each with their
own set of cute clothes. A nice relaxing Toy
Making Day and you get to take home the
patterns for all 3 Toys. If you are ready, we
even have one in a cute Christmas Outfit.

Bag Making Masterclass with Caroline £35 (incs pattern and ½ Metre of fabric)
Date: Sunday 29 th September 10.30 – 4.00pm
Welcome back our Bag Tutor Caroline who has
lots of experience in bag making via her own
business CoCo C’est Moi. All the tricky things that
are involved in bag making are in this class, you
will be taught the following skills: How to make a
Cross body bag with 3 zips; zipped top, front zip
pocket and internal zipped pocket so 3 different techniques. Bag construction
will be covered in detail and Caroline will teach you how to make your own
individual sized bags and drawing out a pattern.
Introduction to Free Motion Quilting with Tutor Trudi Wood £50
Saturday 5 th October 10.00 – 4.00pm
Back again the lovely Free Motion
Quilter Trudi Wood in a hands-on class
to learn (or build on your) free motion
quilting skills. Focusing on technique,
this class will show you how to set
yourself up for success by sharing tips and simple designs in
free motion quilting on domestic machine. A great one for
beginners to test the waters.
About your teacher: Trudi has been for more than 20 years and runs her
long arm quilting business, her clients include patchwork and quilting
magazines, fabric wholesalers and many more.

NEW Block of the Month with Catherine Evie Quilt as You Go Quilt Sampler
£17.50 each Session + (Pattern £15 1 st session only)
Date: Monday 8 th October 12.30 – 3.30pm
This has been such an admired class with Rosemary and due
to popular demand, we are now running one mid-week. It is
such a great class to learn lots of techniques and then put it
together with the Sasher Quilt as You
Go Tool. Evie's quilt consists of lots
of pieced blocks mixed with some
applique. This is a great technique class, or a modern
version of the sampler quilt and a great way to learn
Quilt as You go techniques. ** The pattern will need to
be purchased for this class and you will require a set
of Sasher Tools** This wonderful Quilt was made by
Jan S one of our customers on the BOM.
Applique Hare with Mal £45
Date: Saturday 12 th October 10.00 – 4.00pm
A lovely welcome return to Mal and her fabulous Hare
Applique class, we did this one in 2017! So if you
missed out now is the time to make sure you have
your name down for this one as it is always a popular
class. You will learn the art of free motion, raw edge
applique. Your Hare can be made into a cushion or bag.
Felting Fun with Mandy McLoughlin £25.00 incs. Full kit
Date: Sunday 13 th October 11.00 – 3.00
We just know that these foxes will come to life in
this fun and easy needle felting workshop. Each
little Foxy has its own character and will be
completely unique. Mandy’s classes are always
popular so book as soon as to avoid
disappointment!

The Sew Together Bag with Jane £35 incs pattern
Date: Saturday 19 th October 10.00 – 4.00pm
A welcome return to an old favourite the bag
looks complicated, but we think you’ll be
surprised at how easily it all comes
together. One of the fun things about this
pattern is how you can make it your
own. There are a lot of ideas on Instagram. If
you are looking for some inspiration search

your fabric choices and it can be made with 5 Fat Quarters.
All about Feathers (Free Motion Quilting Masterclass) with Trudi £50
Date: Saturday 26 th October 10.00 –4.00pm
Join experienced Free Motion Quilter Trudi Wood
in a hands-on class to build on your free motion
quilting skills. Focusing on the feather motif, this
class will show you various feather quilting
technique, mixing quilting designs and filling in
negative spaces. This is a fantastic quilting course
for those who would like to expand their quilting
knowledge and free motion quilting repertoire and a great follow up class to

Held once per year in
Houston, Texas it is where
fabric designers, pattern companies, and all companies
quilty release new fabrics and products to quilt store
owners. There is much hype in the quilting world
around quilt market. Designers and quilters dream of
having their work at the market, and quilt shop owners
flock to the market to find the latest and greatest items.
We will be returning once again and last year our return

Join Catherine to make this wonderful
Christmas Tree themed table runner. You will
have the opportunity to make either a traditional
or modern table runner using Christmas Fabric.
Double Wedding Ring Techniques with Catherine £40
with Pattern
Dates: Saturday 23 rd November 10.00am-4.00pm
This pattern is a modern take on the traditional
double wedding ring, in the traditional version,
there are many different colored rings on one back
ground color. This version has a variety of colors
for back ground and the rings are all same color,
making it easy to see the shapes of both the rings
and the squares. Instead of using curved piecing
to create the wedding rings, this workshop uses the applique technique
making it easier for cutting and sewing. We have this wonderful quilt
on loan from the designer Cecile Choi in the shop!

Homemade Advent Calendar with Jane £35 inc Advent,
Wadding and Backing fabric.
Dates: Sunday 24 th November 10.30– 4.00
A super cute little cut and sew
project to add a homemade festive
feel to your home! The panels and
backing fabric is included in this class with your
choice of Advent from the shop. which are from our
latest collection, they are super simple to make.
This project is aimed at all levels, but you will need
to know how to use a sewing machine and be able to sew in a straight
line in order to attend.
Quirky Birds at Oh Sew Sweet with Gillian Travis £55
Date: Saturday 30 th November 10.00 am – 4.00 pm
We are super excited to welcome Gillian a wellknown
Textile Artis to Oh Sew Sweet. The first
quilt in her recent series started following studies
of Polish Folk Costume and Polish toys. It then
progressed to on to making Storks, Emu and
Curlew inspired quilts as seen on the sample in the shop. The blocks are
made using a “quilt as you go” method using easily made thin sashing to
join the blocks Patterns for guinea fowl, storks, curlew and emus will be
available, however you may like to design your own bird patterns. This
class involves, how to: -
- join the strip together
- quilt as you go
- make the sashing and how to apply it
- make your own pattern for the birds or animals
- select fabrics to choose from a photo using your ipad
- bind and finish the quilt, - how to free machine stitch around the birds
or animal.

Another fab class with Helen this time, form
triangles with "crazy patchwork" technique.
Thread up your sewing machine with variegated
and metallic threads and let the fun begin! Your
pieces will be joined and stuffed to make a standing tree all of your
own design. Add ribbon, bells and beads to finish your piece.

Scandinavian Gift Bag - Hand Sewing with Guest Tutor Helen Barnes £40.00

Create a folk bag inspired by
Scandinavian designs. Learn
the techniques of felt
applique and embellishment while gaining an
insight into Swedish textile work. We will use
hand embroidery stitches and beadwork to
enhance the bold attractive folk design. You leave
with the completed bag and the skills to recreate these techniques at home.

Date: Sunday 8 th December 11.00am – 3.00pm
Make yourself a Nordic Nisse, which is
said to be a mythical good luck charm,
you should be able to make a few during
the session, so you will be able to spread
the good luck with your family and
friends. The myth suggests that you
choose your own colour, you have only one Nisse in your home all year round,
and then feed him once a year on Christmas Eve, apparently it has to be
porridge ... if you respect him in your home you will prosper, if you don’t then
you end up being hard up!

Introduction to Whole cloth Quilting with Trudi Wood £55
Dates: Sunday 15 th December 10.30-
4.00pm
Whole cloth quilting is where
only one piece of cloth is quilted. There are no
patchwork patterns or appliqued motifs. The quilt is
made up of a backing, wadding and a plain top either
in cotton patchwork fabric or silk. This would then be quilted either b y
hand or by sewing machine. Join Trudi and explore this different aspect
of quilting, learn how to mark up and design ready for quilting. A
Sample Cushion of the techniques will be made.

Some equipment is available within classes such as rotary cutters and mats, however there is often not
enough to go around a full class so you will therefore be required to share.
We like to encourage you to bring your own machine but please ensure it is in full working order. Our
Janome Machines are available to hire, please check availability before class
