IBEDC denies
report on
non-remittance
to NBET
THE Management of
Ibadan Electricity
Distribution Company,
IBEDC, yesterday refuted
report which indicted it of
not remitting payment in
respect of the bulk energy
invoice presented by the
Nigeria Bulk Electricity
Trading Plc (NBET) for the
month of January 2018.
In a statement, the
company’s Chief
Operating Officer, Engr.
John Ayodele, explained
that ‘’An energy invoice for
the previous month usually
comes towards the end of
the following month, which
is exactly what happened
as the January 2018 bill was
received towards the end of
February 2018.
“We subsequently paid by
February 8. It is worthy of
note that we have remained
consistent in our monthly
remittance to NBET.”
He said IBEDC remains
a responsible organisation
''committed to fulfilling its
obligations to stakeholders
as it begins its meter
maintenance project across
its franchise area. The
project is to ensure that all
customers enjoy the
features of its new and
upgraded billing system for
efficient and optimal service
delivery.''
MAN Ikeja holds
CEOs breakfast
meeting April 19
L AGOS—THE
Manufacturers
Association of Nigeria,
MAN, Ikeja branch has
concluded plans to hold her
2018 Breakfast Meeting for
the CEOs and Managing
Directors’ of membercompanies
in Lagos State
on April 19, 2018.
The Breakfast Meeting is
a yearly event of the
association that provides a
veritable platform for
effective interaction by over
300 chief executives on
economic challenges that
threaten the survival of the
manufacturing sector, and as
such helps to proffer ways
to circumvent these threats.
The association, in a
statement said:
“Considering the almost
comatose state of the
manufacturing sector, as a
result of multiple taxes and
levies being birthed in the
wake of high revenue
generation drive by
government at all levels,
having to battle with the
resultant high cost of doing
business; a cursory look at
the various regulations and
policies being implemented
by the government over the
years has shown that the
growth of the sector is being
inadvertently stifledby the
ripple effect of these policies
and regulations.
''Hence this forum will
discuss “The Impact of
Legislation, Regulations
and Policies on the Ease of
Doing Business in Nigeria.”
