The Chairman's Notes
Today we extend a warm Paycare Ground welcome to
the players. supporters and officials of Wrens Nest FC.
Whilst this is the first League encounter of the season
with our visitors we did meet in the League Cup where
Wrens Nest ran out 4-2 winners. That win came as part
of their current seven game unbeaten run so we know
another difficult game is in store today. Win, lose or
draw their players and officials will be most welcome to
join us in the clubhouse for our award winning post-match hospitality.
Since our last home game against Tipton on 10th March a lot of things have
happened. The addi=onal covered accommoda=on for 50 people has been
erected and work on the toilet refurbishments is well underway. Hopefully
by today the Gents refurbishment will be completed. These works alone
cost more than £40k. With this money and the money spent on refurbishing
the dressing rooms, the hardstanding, post and rail, grandstand, dugouts as
well as the boiler room and central hea=ng refurbishments our spending on
improvements and refurbishments in the last 3 years is now more than
£100k.
We have also “adver=sed” for youth teams so that we can implement the
next phase of our 5 year plan. We have also set the date for the AGM which
will be held in the clubhouse on Wednesday 18 April star=ng at 7.00pm. You
are all welcome to aBend. It would be great to see a good turnout of players
and supporters.
Today also sees the first of your opportuni=es to vote for your player of the
season. Vo=ng slips will be held behind the bar so I would encourage every
supporter to cast their vote. This season’s Presenta=on and Awards evening
is being generously sponsored by EMR Recycling Ltd. As always our
supporters are invited to aBend the awards evening on Saturday 26 May.
