Serving the school …
Head Boy and Head Girl have quite a lot of responsibility in school.
One of the main things they must do is encompass all the ASPIRE values on a
daily basis, to be a role model and relate well to younger pupils and their peers.
Another responsibility is overseeing the prefect team and organising the duty
team. It is also essential to be a big part of the St George community, for
example taking part in charity events and the organisation of these.
Looking ahead, being a prefect in school can have many advantages later in life. It looks excellent on your CV
and job applications as it shows you have held a position of great responsibility and you are a good leader -
qualities guaranteed to impress at interviews.
Head Girl for 2017-2018 India Miles, who was the first to hold the post, said: “Being Head Girl is a great
experience where you can impact the lives of others at this school for the better.”
Ben McCormack, Head Boy for 2017-18, said: “What I loved about being Head Boy was the sense of
responsibility I gained from the role.”
Teachers are invited to vote as well as students, and the candidates will also have to take part in an interview
with the Chair of Governors Mr Marchetti and Headteacher Mr Habberley.
