slowly fading. Still and all, there are some of us who are taking advantage the good hot 

and venturesome kind of weather. 

The collected memories are being gleefully compiled in everyone’s consciousness and 

modified life’s book. The life spontaneity gracefully drove us into one memorable and 

vivid avenue of learning experiences. To the untainted vision of bold and loud fun feast, 

nothing is monochrome and unvaried as much of a muchness. 

This May 2018 issue tickles your rested imagination to explore new things inside the 

parameter of your own pouring vision. This will help you to appreciate the hidden 

treasures that people usually ignored and taken for granted. 

VP/Travel features the old and classic beauty of the walled city of the metro, Intramuros. 

It would be a great destination for everyone who wants to learn new things but schedules 

and budget meddle the way. Rediscovering the wonders of the main city sounds really 

exciting and interesting. 

Over and above that, this special issue jumps with playful bond depicted by our celebrity 

covers, Julian Trono, Jack Reid, Vitto Marquez, Andrew Muhlach and Dan Hushcka as 

they star in the coming-of-age youth oriented barkada movie of the year: Squad Goals.

Intramuros!

School’s out and it’s vacation season once again, #TravelGoals will 

be the most used hashtag this summer no doubt. But when you don’t 

want to keep pace with the bunch of people going home to their 

provinces, or if the budget is tight and you got no time to go out of 

town why not explore Metro Manila? 

Located in the 5th District of Manila, the 0.67 square kilometer walled 

area will make you relived historic times. 

Baluarte de San Diego 

Vintage looking buildings and walls will welcome you upon your 

entrance in Intramuros. There are also pedicab drivers who will offer 

you a tour along the walled city. But if you have itinerary for the trip, 

you yourself can manage the tour. 

You and your friends can visit Baluarte de San Diego. The entrance 

fee is P75 for adults and P50 for students. The circular structure of 

the fort can be seen if you climb up the stairs. The fort is surrounded 

by fountain, pavilions, a garden with bonsai and trees with lanterns 

hanging on it’s branches. The fort is overlooking a golf-course and 

you can see the skyscrapers that is in Manila, but the greens in 

Baluarte is calming and refreshing nonetheless. 

Foreigners are also in awe of the beauty of Baluarte de San Diego. 

Just like the students from Korea, you can also enjoy the green 

scenery. 


Fort Santiago 

If you want to see where our National Hero is detained during the 

Colonial Times, Fort Santiago is the place to drop by. The oldest 

Hispanic stone fortress is filled by dungeons and gardens. 

These places are really Instagram worthy. If you want to sport a 

vintage vibe to your feed, you can take pictures at the dungeons. 

Sit by the large windowsills and voila! You have a no-effort creative 

looking picture. 

If you don’t feel like walking, you and your friends can ride the 

kalesa. The kalesa ride fee is P100 per head. You can enjoy the 

historic sight-seeing while riding an old-fashioned means of 

transportation. 

Be a #ThriftyTraveller! 

Be sure to bring your umbrellas, hats, or sunglasses especially if its 

sunny. If you’re feeling thirsty, you don’t have to worry because just 

outside Intramuros, there are stores wherein you can buy refreshments 

and snacks. 

You don’t have to spend a hefty amount of money or travel long and 

wide the country. All you have to do is your research. There’s nearby 

places where you can spend your vacation this summer. In this digital 

age, you can find beautiful places with just one click on social 

media or the internet.

When you hear Kapitolyo, Pasig, first thing that comes 

to mind are the rows and rows of food establishments 

with their equally famous brands. Although traffic and 

parking congestion are typical in the area, people still 

flock the vicinity to get a satisfying fill of their tummy 

and get their money’s worth. 

VP foodie 

Armed with a crumbling tummy, we ventured into 

a food establishment that is getting quite a share of 

mention on social media to check the buzz. Main 

Street in Kapitolyo offers a wide choice of pizza, 

pasta and other mains that will usher you into a 

gastronomical journey as they burst flavor into your 

mouth. 

And here are our favorites! 

Michelle’s choice: Always ready to taste 

every Salmon dish. I went for their Miso- 

Glazed Salmon. Fresh slab grilled to 

perfection and drizzled with Miso glaze. 

Although it kinda lack the unmistakable 

miso flavor but nonetheless it passed my 

taste buds. 

We started with Grilled Chicken Salad which gave out 

an exciting zesty flavor. I must say it set the bar for the 

following dishes. 

Ralph’s choice: The beef-lover in me hands 

down went for the Kitayama Flank Steak 

which consists of nicely seasoned tender 

slices of beef over herbed rice and garnished 

with Alfalfa sprouts. 

We also ordered their Basil Pesto Chicken 

Pasta. Al dente Linguini topped with Grilled 

Chicken with a generous topping of pesto. 

Another must-try for me is their Spicy Chicken 

Sandwich which was lightly coated with a sweetspicy 

dressing that not overpowering the flavor of the 

chicken. 

I also loved their U.S.D.A Beef Burger 

that’s juicy and flavorful. All of its 1/3 pound 

patty smothered with the right amount of 

condiments. 

The girls who are crazy over Fish and Chips ordered 

their Salmon version (since they are not into the dory 

variant). Glad that they’re lightly battered, fried but 

still juicy. 

Since we dined with the kids in tow, we also ordered 

their Buttermilk Chicken which can be ordered either 

for Solo (3pcs) over your choice of side or a platter 

consisting of 8pcs Crispy yet juicy fried chicken. 

We would have tried their pizza which on the photos 

looked very nice but they ran out of dough, hence, it 

would have to wait until next time.

sit beside them on the canteen table. There’s

our friend’s friend. Whichever situation we 

picked our friends from, the relationship will be 

tighten through good and fun times. However, 

there are friendships that are molded from 

unfortunate situations. Will good and fun times 

be in the picture? The “fbois” will let you know 

the answer. 

Join Julian Trono, Vitto Marquez, Andrew 

Muhlach, Dan Hushka, and Jack Reid will star 

in the coming-of-age feel good youth oriented 

movie of the year. Summer, fun, and friendship

Julian Trono entered showbiz in 2009 as a host 

in the values-oriented children’s show Tropang 

Potchi. He earned the title Prince of the Dance 

Floor when he joined Party Pilipinas in 2010. He also 

tried acting, he appeared on Amaya (2011), Anna 

Karenina (2013), Niño (2014), Buena Familia (2015), 

and Dear Uge (2016). 

Julian was casted in Viva Film’s horror movie Ang 

Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz in 2017. His first leading 

role is in the romantic comedy film Fangirl, Fanboy. 

He also ventured in choreographing dance routines 

and is also a recording artist under Viva Records. 

Get ready to be amazed with his dance moves. Julian 

will be playing #Flyboi Benj, an engineering student 

who is a secret dance guru and wears a mask to hide 

his identity because his father is opposed to this 

passion of his.

MARQUEZ 

Vitto Marquez, the son of Alma Moreno and 

Joey Marquez auditioned for ABS-CBN’s boy 

group Hashtags in 2016. After a year, he was 

launched as one of the members of Hashtags. This 

charismatic guy appears regularly on It’s Showtime. 

Squad Goals is Vitto’s first appearance on the big 

screen. 

Do your stretching because Vitto is #Fitboi Tom, he 

is a son of a retired basketball player and a model. 

Tom is an HRM student, a varsity team captain, a 

three-time MVP, your typical “It Guy”. 





Andrew Muhlach’s decision to join showbiz is 

supported by his family, his brothers Aga and 

AJ are also in the business. His first acting stint 

is in Lumayo Ka nga Sa Akin, a 2016 movie wherein 

he starred as the son of Maricel Soriano and Herbert 

Bautista. He first worked with Jack Reid in the horror 

flick Darkroom. 

Your stomachs will surely ache due to excessive 

laughing. Andrew is #Funnyboi, a son of an Uber 

driver and a networking company distributer. His 

character Nat is the class clown and best friend of 

Tom (Vitto Marquez).

Daniel Huschka is a member of a boy group 

"Sugar High" in 2013. The Filipino-German 

entered showbiz because of his passion for 

singing. His first acting role is in “Taddy Taddy 

Po”, a family comedy which was aired on Sari Sari 

Channel in 2017. 

Feel his passion through his music. Daniel will play 

the role of #Funkyboi Hans, a shy type music 

genius and DJs at gigs. He is trying to hold back in 

opening himself up to his friends because he and his 

mom will go back to Germany anytime.

Jack Reid entered showbiz in 2015. He was cast 

in “Ang Panday” and “Happy Truck Happinas” 

in 2016. In 2017, he starred in horror flick 

“Darkroom”. Jack is being recognized through his 

talents rather than being James Reid’s brother. 

Swoon over his looks and Aussie-accent. Jack is 

#Fastboi Pads, a Mass Communication student 

by day and a bartender at night. He is yet to speak 

Tagalog fluently and was sent here in the Philippines 

to get his act together. He’s living with his brother 

and will meet a girl who’s affected with his pretty 

boy looks. 



In being compared to ‘Bagets’ an 80’s allboys 

film also produced by Viva Films: 

They find it humbling to be compared in a 

successful movie. But for them there’s nothing 

to compare because it’s an all new era. They 

are representing a new generation. The movie 

will show the struggles and the good times this 

generation can offer. 

Giving the ‘Fboi’ a creative and positive 

connotation: 

Julian Trono as #Flyboi: 

"Yung character ko dito is also into dancing 

siguro yung fly stands for sobrang cool nya, 

very personal. ‘Yun yung nagdi-describe dun sa 

character ko dun sa film and sya yung pinakang 

chill lang." 

Vitto Marquez as #Fitboi: 

“I am into fitness talaga. I play volleyball with 

my sister during free time.” 

Andrew Muhlach as #Funnyboi: 

“Ako dito yung funny boy. Medyo, medyo funny. 

Nasa charateristics ko talaga.” 

Dan Hushcka as #Funkyboi: 

“That’s probably because my 

character sa movie is a DJ and he 

studies music. I am super into music, it’s easy 

portraying yung character namin.” 

Jack Reid as #Fastboi: 

“My character was fast in everything, fast to fall 

asleep, even though he’s with his friends he’d 

be the first one to sleep, he’s always tired cause 

he’s a part-time bartender but he’s also fast to 

get girls.” 

Our ‘Fbois’ also had their fair share of 

minor mischief adventures when they 

are still in school! 

Julian trade his test paper with his classmate 

which has a perfect score to get an action 

figure that his grandmother promised him in 

exchange to his perfect tests scores. Andrew 

and Vitto had experienced to cut class which 

is very common adventure to most of the 

students. Dan will always remember his 

mischief because he got a scar on the forehead 

for doing a fun flip in the rock climbing wall 

when he’s 12 or 13 year old. A self-proclaimed 

‘Naughty Kid’—Jack got a suspension for 

fighting back at a kid using a fire extinguisher. 

The Friendship that has been formed 

during and after the filming: 

The boys already knew each other because 

they are all from Viva Family. However, their 

friendship had been cemented through the 

workshops, promotional tour, and of course 

while filming the movie. Their bond is blatant 

during the photoshoot and interview. Andrew 

said, “lumalabas kami na kami lang talagang 

lima”. Julian also added that the boys already 

had their own space in his heart. 

The ‘Fbois’ Relationship Status! 

Andrew: “Single ako, focus muna tayo sa 

career natin.” 

Vitto: “ No. I am single right now.” 

Dan: “A girlfriend? Not at the moment.” 

Jack: “No, very single.” 

Julian: “A lot of people inspires me. Let’s 

consider this one person. 'at tinaas nya ang 

kilay nya' yan yung isusulat mo or kinindatan 

nya 'ko, no no no basta there’s a very very 

special person.” 


Life lessons that the Fbois learned from Squad Goals: 

Dan: "You have to make the most of your time now." 

Vitto: “Meron pa ring totoong kaibigan, di lahat ng tao plastic.” 

Jack: “Juggling girls is just a temporary happiness”. 

Julian wants you to know the importance of friendship through 

this movie: “Kapag sinabi kasing family, last line of defense yan e 

and yung barkada is the first line, yan yung kasangga mo sa iyak 

at the same time din sa kalokohan, susuportahan ka. It’s still love 

e.” 

Squad Goals will make you realize that friendship can be found 

in the most unexpected places with the unexpected people and 

unexpected circumstances. Get ready to ponder on your younger

Lao Ong, the 27-year old Operations Manager of Manila. Aside 

from being a young executive, the 5-feet 9-inches tall Advertising 

Management graduate used to teach karate. As lagniappe, he is also an 

artist who draws rough sketches and oil painting.

Superhero Movie in the History

Avengers: Infinity War wears the fusion of bushed 

Hollywood films’ extravagance and visually luxurious 

treat. No one would enjoy their cinema seat without 

occupying the terrifying movements caused by 

the positively irrepressible breath scenes. It hardly 

uppercuts the built expectations of moviegoers into an 

impressively pronounced masterpiece. The 19th film of 

the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) aesthetically 

painted and orchestrated chaos that made the film 

matchless and modified in superlatives. 

The movie’s noticeable knot is the sparse accent 

of all the characters, catharsis building and the 

tweaking of MCU’s time-honored and revered fantasy. 

Nevertheless, the line’s mild debacles did not bury the 

audience’s broad load absorber. 

Considered as one of decade’s greatest movies, 

it delivers a darker, edgier and notably riskier 

representation. It is a beast that calmly projects his

Infinity War is one of the few films that could tickle

Tom Holland’s scene as Spider-man in the movie’s

frame which centers Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) 

will leave you silently agonizing whilst pushing your 

own weight on to the soft couch. 

After the two-hour and thirty minutes run, it suddenly

omega of your critical senses. The film is magnificent 

in the altitude of empowering reveries of every story’s 

uphill. 

Infinity War installment of the Avengers Saga is not a 

popcorn movie. Furthermore, it the most sensational,

Kyrie Irving and Steph Curry Goes 

Down To Injury Before the Playoffs 

In today’s NBA, point guards are dominating the game. 

Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving, Russel Westbrook, and Chris 

Paul are just some of the great point guards in the 

league. However, the faster pace of the 82-game NBA 

season can take a toll on the player’s body. 

Two of the “Point Gods” are down with injury and 

would miss significant time during the early parts 

of the 2018 NBA Playoffs. Steph Curry is projected 

the first round of the playoffs due to a sprained MCL 

that he got on March 23. This is a blow to the Golden 

State Warriors’ game plan but not that much since 

they still have Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant to 

carry the scoring load. They are going up against the 

veteran laden San Antonio Spurs that is without Kawhi 

Leonard. 

The Boston Celtics are also missing their start Kyrie 

Irving since March 11. He underwent surgery to 

remove a tension wire on his left knee and is looking at 

a 3 – 6 weeks of recovery time. He is also projected to 

miss the first round of the playoffs. 

The good news about this is that Irving’s fractured 

patella that he has been nursing since the 2015 NBA 

finals has fully healed. The only reason for the surgery 

is to remove the tension wire that has been bothering 

Uncle Drew. 

KYRIE IRVING 

Unlike the Warrior, the Boston Celtics is going to have 

a hard time against the up and coming Milwaukee 

Bucks that features another explosive point guard 

Eric Bledsoe along with the Greek Freak Giannis 

Antetokounmpo. They will have to rely on Al Horford, 

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum for leadership and 

scoring.
