ABOUT THE BOYS & GIRLS<br />

CLUBS OF GREATER SCOTTSDALE<br />

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale provides a positive, safe and<br />

fun environment to help 17,500 youth of all ages and backgrounds develop<br />

the qualities needed to reach their full potential. The Club offers more than<br />

100 youth development programs emphasizing five core areas including:<br />

the arts; character and leadership development; education and career<br />

development; health & life skills; and sports, fitness and recreation.<br />

MISSION<br />

Our youth development programs are carefully designed<br />

to develop character and life-enhancing skills. When youth<br />

leave the Clubs, our goal is that they will have developed:<br />

A positive self-identity<br />

Scholastic, career, social, emotional and cultural<br />

competencies<br />

A desire to remain involved in their community<br />

Health and well-being<br />

A moral compass<br />

CLUB IMPACT<br />

65,000—Number of free meals<br />

served to youth who need it<br />

the most.<br />

50%—Decrease in the amount<br />

of juvenile arrests since our<br />

programming was put in place at<br />

a Juvenile Detention Center on<br />

Native American land.<br />

300—Youth who receive free<br />

dental and vision care through our<br />

mobile Outreach Services.<br />

98% of parents have seen a<br />

positive impact on their child as a<br />

result of the Club.<br />

$19.33—Amount of positive<br />

economic impact generated in the<br />

community for every $1 donated.<br />

RECOGNITION<br />

27 national program awards have<br />

been given to our non-profit<br />

since 2003 including the honor of<br />

Best Overall Club (twice).<br />

18 Club members have won<br />

national honors in fine arts and<br />

digital arts since 2003 – judged<br />

best in the country in their age<br />

category.<br />

Nationally recognized as one of<br />

the top 25 organizations in the<br />

country by Boys & Girls Clubs of<br />

America.<br />

Our results in working with<br />

incarcerated youth have been<br />

highlighted in national justice<br />

magazines and our staff<br />

have presented at national<br />

conferences based on requests to<br />

learn more about these efforts.<br />
