A. OVERVIEW STATEMENT: POLICIES & PROCEDURES<br />

Policies and procedures of the College and Department of Nursing are designed <strong>to</strong> assist you in your<br />

progression through your academic program. The Fisher College Course Catalog and <strong>RN</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>BSN</strong><br />

Student Handbook both contain vital information for all students.<br />

The Program reserves the right <strong>to</strong> change professional policies without prior notice <strong>to</strong> reflect advances in<br />

the profession and will communicate these changes <strong>to</strong> students. If a student is separated from the <strong>RN</strong> <strong>to</strong><br />

<strong>BSN</strong> Program and is readmitted at a later date, the policies and procedures in effect at the time of<br />

readmission will apply.<br />

B. PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR RESPONSIBILITIES<br />

<strong>RN</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>BSN</strong> students are responsible for developing and demonstrating professional behavior. The<br />

classroom and all clinical learning environments are considered professional settings. Therefore, the<br />

following behaviors are expected indica<strong>to</strong>rs of professional standards of conduct:<br />

1. Behaving with civility at all times.<br />

2. Attending each class, or Collaborate.<br />

3. Arriving on time for each class or Collaborate.<br />

4. Being well prepared for each class or Collaborate.<br />

5. Turning off all multi-media technologies while in the learning environment.<br />

6. Being attentive <strong>to</strong> and respectful of the faculty, peers and classmates during class or Collaborate<br />

presentations and/or discussions, utilizing a headset and having the camera on during the<br />

Collaborate.<br />

7. Notifying the professor well in advance in the unusual circumstance that you will be late, unable<br />

<strong>to</strong> attend class or Collaborate or unable <strong>to</strong> meet the requirements of the learning experience.<br />

8. Being professional in communication with all Program, College and practice experience staff<br />

9. Participating actively in own learning by identifying areas of weakness and seeking out assistance<br />

from available support services as necessary.<br />

C. GRADING<br />

Grades are assigned according <strong>to</strong> the Fisher College Grading Scale below:<br />

93-100 = A = 4.0 77-79 = C+ = 2.3 60 – 62 = D- = 0.7<br />

90-92 = A- = 3.7 73-76 = C = 2.0 Below 60 = F = 0.0<br />

87-89 = B+ = 3.3 70-72 = C- = 1.7<br />

83-86 = B = 3.0 67-69 = D+ = 1.3<br />

80-82 = B- = 2.7 63-66 = D = 1.0<br />

A grade of C+ (77) is the minimum passing grade for all nursing courses.<br />

D. REGISTRATION, COURSE ADD/DROP<br />

The Fisher College website provides students with policies and deadlines as they relate <strong>to</strong> course<br />

registration and the course add/drop period and refunds. Ordinarily the add/drop period is the end of the<br />
