2. I would pour out my heart to the Lord - TELL him what I was
feeling. Lord, I am feeling (fill in the blank: sad, angry, resentful,, jealous,
anxiety, fear,) or I am hanging on to, (hate, lust, unforgiveness, etc.)
Sometimes I would ask the Lord to search my heart and show me if I
had grieved His Spirit and needed to repent.
Psalm 62:8
Trust in him at all times; you people, pour out your
heart before him: God is a refuge for us…
Psalm 39:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Isaiah 57:15
…I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble
spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
