More than 1,200 pet lovers gathered at the Tropicana
Metropark Property Gallery and its sprawling 9.2-acre Central
Park over two days for the property’s inaugural Pets Carnival &
Bazaar. A fun-filled weekend for families and their furry fourlegged
friends, a raft of activities were organised to keep all
creatures great and small thoroughly entertained.
In the Ruff Zone interactive area, attendees could participate
in clay moulding workshops, get their pet and owner caricatures
drawn, and enjoy pony rides. An anticipated hit, the petting zoo
in the Cute Zone was a big favourite with younger children.
Attendees didn’t go away empty handed. Owner-Pet
Lookalike, Best Trick, Pet Agility and Best Pet Costume
contests saw winners take home some terrific prizes. Pets were
the biggest winners of all. A pets’ bazaar presented shopping
opportunities including goodies specially crafted for Fido and
Felix, and pet wash stations were available for pet grooming
with proceeds donated to animal shelters like Cherishlife
Home, Save A Stray, Second Chance Animal Society and Pet’s
Journal. Best of all, a pet adoption drive also saw some lucky
dogs and cats find their forever homes. Awww….
Pet owners lauded the event for the opportunity to enjoy
quality time with their pets and meet other like-minded
pet owners within the neighbourhood. Speaking about the
event, Tropicana Managing Director Ung Lay Ting said,
“We understand that given our busy schedules it can be really
difficult to find time, what more find the right location to
allow our pets to run and play. Hence, we held this event at
our very own Central Park which was the perfect backdrop for
parents, children and their pets from the community here and
those in the area to come together to strengthen family bonds
and have a good time with their pets within a safe and secure
neighbourhood.”
