SING ALONG CONCERT PARIS June 1 - 3, 2018 Paris, France A project of the World Festival Singers The last years have proved, that the Sing Along Concert by the Berlin Radio Choir was not only a good idea, but with constantly 1.300 singers from all over the world a manifested grand in Berlins’ musical life. That’s a good reason for going on a journey with this idea and meet other musical cities. Already in 2010 a Sing Along Concert took place during the Aspendos Festival in Turkey. In 2014 INTERKULTUR invited music lovers from all over the world to a Sing Along Concert journey in the Hungarian capital city Budapest. In May 2016, in the Konzerthaus Vienna, international singers performed Schubert’s Mass No.6. With round about 60 concerts per season and international guest performances<br />

Rundfunkchor Berlin is one of the world’s outstanding choral ensembles. Three<br />

Grammy® Awards alone mark the success of the ensemble. It is the chosen partner of<br />

renowned orchestras and conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann or<br />

Yannick Nézet-Séguin.<br />

Rundfunkchor Berlin’s experimental project series has attracted worldwide attention.<br />

In collaboration with artists from diverse disciplines, the chorus breaks down the<br />

classical concert formation. For its latest project »LUTHER dancing with the gods« the<br />

choir cooperated with director Robert Wilson. The celebrated interactive scenic version<br />

of Brahms’s »Ein deutsches Requiem« staged by Jochen Sandig and a team of Sasha<br />

Waltz & Guests – »human requiem« – played guest performances in New York, Hong<br />

Kong, <strong>Paris</strong>, Brussels, Athens and Adelaide and will travel to Istanbul in summer 2019.<br />

Rundfunkchor Berlin invites people of all ages and walks of life to become immersed in<br />

the world of professional choral music – with the big <strong>Sing</strong> <strong>Along</strong> <strong>Concert</strong>s, the Festival<br />

of Choral Cultures for international choirs and the Liederbörse (Song Exchange) for<br />

children and young people. The choir’s education programme SING! encourages singing<br />

in Berlin’s elementary schools. With its Academy and Schola for young professional<br />

singers as well as the Berlin International Masterclass for highly qualified young choral<br />

conductors the ensemble supports the next generation.
