LINK: New Sponsor Mentor/Mentee Program<br />
A New Sponsor Mentor/Mentee Program has been created to foster relationships between<br />
new and established/veteran sponsors, promote active Beta membership, increase active<br />
participation in Beta activities and offerings and to support new sponsors in their role.<br />
In March, sponsors with 5+ years of service were asked to apply, if interested, to become a<br />
mentor for up to 2 new sponsors. New sponsors with 1-2 years of service have been informed<br />
of the program and are encouraged to apply on a first come, first served basis.<br />
61 Mentors Applied 122 Potential Pairings 24 Mentees Applied (May <strong>2018</strong>)<br />
Mentor/Mentee pairings will be announced in August with pairings to continue as the need<br />
arises.<br />
Gear Up: Webinars<br />
Three webinars for new sponsors were<br />
developed for 2017-<strong>2018</strong>. The first<br />
webinar covers membership processes<br />
such as adding and inviting members,<br />
collecting fees, membership materials<br />
and more. The second webinar covered<br />
fall news and opportunities such as<br />
Infuse, Leadership Summits, School of<br />
Distinction, Scholarship and others. The<br />
third webinar covered spring news and<br />
opportunities such as Spring Leadership<br />
Summits, National Beta Week, Harris<br />
Leadership, Service Award, School of<br />
Merit and others.<br />

Transition Guide<br />
To prevent the loss of knowledge when<br />
a sponsor retires, moves to a new school<br />
or will no longer be serving in their role,<br />
a Transition Guide was developed and<br />
distributed to all sponsors. It provides<br />
areas to list basic chapter information,<br />
timelines for membership, community<br />
service, officers, convention/leadership<br />
and reflection for the outgoing sponsor.<br />
Sponsors were also provided with<br />
additional resources to pass along.<br />
Service Hour Revamp<br />
In an effort to expand recognition for<br />
service hours and projects performed<br />
by Beta chapters, a collaborative effort<br />
between the New Sponsor and Membership<br />
teams is planned to launch after National<br />
Convention. The new initiative will expand<br />
service hour tracking for each chapter as<br />
well as offered tiered awards based on their<br />
level of hours earned.
